that dunk on alonzo was so cold
@xystixwan455610 жыл бұрын
His best weapon was his long arms, they allowed him to play stellar defense and get shots past and through other defensive big men. He could shoot the mid range, he could go to the post, he ran the floor, he passed the ball, he was a leader, and he gave effort every night. I hate it when people judge him because he has no rings cuz he genuinely tried hard, every single night. He also loves that leaning dunk.

Yep couldn't agree more. Pat gets unfairly crapped on too much by people.

youre dead on. Ewing had a beautiful fade away I might add.
@PaulieAFantoneJays196 жыл бұрын
Xysti...Yes, I agree w/ that statement! (The NBA will never have another player quite like Patrick Ewing...The man had more heart than almost every single player in today's era not named Steph Curry!)
@KTF06 жыл бұрын
Gotta remember, Ewing came in as one of the best college players ever since Bill Walton and Kareem. He had high expectations AND was playing in NY on top of it. Knicks fans now show high affinity to the Ewing era as the team was a reflection of him, a hard working tough nose team and i really hope he could put that mentality back into the Hoyas.

Was amazed when someone said melo is way greater than pat. I hope that dude interchanged their names🤣

nice to see, so many don't hold him in high regard because of no titles, which is unfair and misses the point of how great he was
@Novastar68 жыл бұрын
+TheOudplayer ..... He was one hell of a player. Unfortunately he was good at the wrong time. A lot of players in the 90s held the same fate.
@theoudplayerAK8 жыл бұрын
Novastar6 i think it had more to do with his team, they never had enough offense as a whole, and the Bulls were always the best team during the 2 3peats. If you put Ewing on the Bulls and MJ on the Knicks, I don't think much changes in the results...

Many, many a nights spent watching MSG Network and the Knicks while I was growing up in Western NY... Ewing, Oakley, Mason, Starks, Davis, Harper.. those were the days of the NBA I will always like the most.

Man, that's when basketball was on a whole different level. Not only Michael and pippen was exciting to see with their dunks and moves but had other greats to like Hardaway, Miller, starks, and olajuwon, Grant, dexter, webb, and so much. You don't see that right now. You don't see guys who looks like they're walking on Air and dunks on you while hanging on air. Making crazy moves. Right now you see guys just going for one direction layup and get stuffed by LeBron when they should fake it and go the other way. Back in the days even smaller guys got some serious hops and they would dunked on bigger guys rather than trying to go for a layup and get blocked.

Lot of stupid comments here. You win with your team. Simple. Jordan had 3, 4 shooters on his 1st three peat + 1HOF. Had 3 HOFs on his 2nd tp. Ewing had Smith, Charlie Ward and irregular Starks. yeah, right, you will win a ring with that. Ewing is top 10 Center of all time. #1 leading scorer in Knicks. Thats huge. Too bad Miller spoiled his chance in 95 again with Rockets. That would be more difficult than Shaq taking lessons from The Dream.

His legacy for me was that STUPID FINGER ROLL HE MISSED AGAINST INDIANA IN '95! And he traveled to end Game 5 against Indiana in '95! MR. KNICK MY BEHIND! REED, DEBUSCHERRE, FRAZIER, BRADLEY, AND MONROE OVER THIS BUM!
@vccstudents10 жыл бұрын
ReignSupreme287 You are sadly mistaken! Reed CARRIED that '70 team to the NBA title on ONE GOOD LEG, and he did it AGAINST WILT! Ewing couldn't hold Reed's jock strap! Ewing was also undisciplined as he demonstrated when he got suspended in Heat series in '97. I could name 50 other players from the original 50 greatest who were better. He was over rated at Georgetown as well! Ewing will NEVER be Mr. Knick as far as I'm concerned. Ask the fans who were at Game 7 in '95. They booed him off the court!
@thriller29210 жыл бұрын
You're just a flat out dumb ass Ewing is arguably one if the top three centers of all time. Also he was a great defender and was usually big in the clutch. You stupid fucking Knicks fans you don't know how lucky you are. What is you were a clippers fan or bobcats fan they have no history. FUCK YOU!
@vccstudents10 жыл бұрын
Top 3?!? You obviously don't know Jack! This bum will NEVER be in the same league as Russell, Wilt, or Kareem! I'd put Bob Lanier above this BUM!

Ok maybe not top three. But top ten for sure. I just wish these Knicks fans would be more thankful for all that he's done.
