Refs talk and give guidance all the time. It is not required but is a courtesy they extend regularly, especially about lining up. You can see WR's check with hand signals every play. "You're close to a flag" "you are crowding the line" "you are floating back" "watch your hands" "keep it clean" that type of chatter goes all game 1. If you look at that play, the DE was lined up offsides and could have just as easily been called against Denver or offsetting. 2. The second guy #98 had the face mask you can not see from that angle proving how hard it is to ref.

So a WR usually asks the ref if they're lined up correctly. The lineman usually don't because they are focused on the D line scheme. So the QB if he wants can ask the ref to let him know about a lineman in the neutral zone. Not common but if the OL is constantly offsides. Hope that helps ✌️

Refs gave them the only TD they got today. Mahomes guy sacked back 2 back knocking them out of FG range and the refs was like HELL NO! Somehow they call an illegal contact on a safety 12 yards down the field when the play only lasted 2 seconds bc the sack was that fast. It’s not the refs job to notify you you’re in an illegal formation 🤦🏽. The player himself could ask if he’s good. He’s literally asking the ref to tell him if he’s lined up wrong without having to ask. Crazy people are talking like that’s okay
