I think it’s safe to say that Purdy should be paid more than Daniel Jones and Tua.
@carlmcwilliams1815Ай бұрын
I agree. I'm an Eagles fan and I hate the Niners, but Purdy has played well. The argument of rookie contracts is the reason they had to set a minimum wage. He has outperformed his contract, and so has Jamar Chase. He should walk in and say.... without me... McCaffrey throws the ball. Shanahan that
@dfp_01Ай бұрын
Certainly more than Jones. But when Tua's healthy, he's also put up monster numbers with a great supporting cast. I don't think he's as good of a quarterback as Purdy, but I also don't think Mike McDaniel is as good of a coach as Kyle Shanahan, and scheme does matter. If it were up to me I'd do it Nick's way, give Purdy a year without some of his current teammates and see how it goes, and if he still shines then you can pay him what he's worth, even if that does end up being more money because other guys will have been paid by then.

Football and basketball shouldn't be compared. Football is much more reliant on teammates than basketball is. You can't play both sides of the ball like you can in basketball. Exactly! No QB does it on his own. In basketball, one player has much greater impact on the game, and there’s fluidity to the game. Do you know how many minutes of actual game-action the average NFL game consists of? 12 minutes!!! I hate the way Mahomes gets hyped. I don’t think he’s all that, and I think he receives a lot if undeserved credit. But they’ve chosen him as the face of the league, and that’s that. If Pete Carroll hadn’t called that stupid pass play, and certain players hadn’t been so jealous of Russ (really Sherm, Can, and Percy Harvin), Russ would’ve inherited the league. Russ made his share of mistakes too! He put himself out there in ways he shouldn’t have. That didn’t help…everything from his “Go Hawks” bs to his bad commercials to his kissing up to Roger Goodell. He played himself, but he still doesn’t deserve to have his entire legacy destroyed. I can’t root for Mahomes because he’s getting everything that should’ve been Russ’s. Russ had paid his dues and should’ve been next in line to be the guy. He got stepped over before he made some of the mistakes he made. So I’ll put 60% of it on his haters, 20% on Pete Carroll, and 20% on Russ. Pete Carroll did cape for Russ but it was too late when he did it.

It’s not just that they didn’t have him as their number 1 qb it’s that they didn’t have him as one of the top 3 qbs to start a team with. Like what are we doing how did those 2 people even get a nfl job

Love your show. You guys make me laugh. I want to throw my hat in the ring. "Was Brock Purdy a third string quarterback or a fourth string quarterback? It doesn't matter it's irrelevant. You would hate to pay all these wide receivers just to do cardio! He has all these weapons, and they are not doing cardio. They are actually producing. Not bad for Mr. Relevant."

I agree completely. If I found out someone in my organization left mahomes off the lift, instantly fired, and would tell them to reevaluate their career
