I always thought "Dance in the Dark" was one of her really-underrated songs. Love the vibe and the lyrical message. And while you're totally right that the mid-point breakdown feels like "Vogue," the difference here is that all the famous people Gaga's listing are people who were destroyed or even killed by their own fame in one way or another: Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Sylvia Plath, JonBenet Ramsey, Liberace, Jesus, and Princess Diana.

Her and Elton John actually performed a melody of “Speechless” and “Your Song” at the 2010 Grammys 😊. The synths in “Dance in the Dark” give me “Sweet Dreams” by the Eurythmics vibes. Maybe that’s what you’re hearing as well
