Good that you decided to share your story to the world. Sometimes one needs to get sober and be at peace with self.

If you don't get sober, you will die from an alcohol related illness. Something like only 5"% of people ever quit drinking for good. I'm going to be one of those....5 months sober and feeling great.

So if I drink alcohol and get killed by being struck by lightning, or in a car accident that wasnt my fault, alcohol is the cause of that? Lol your comment was foolish and not true. I am 12 months sober and have never told myself what you just said. Lol you dont have to lie to yourself to get sober. If you have to lie to yourself just to get sober, then you just arent honest with yourself and you’re definitely not ready to get sober. Just bc one drinks alcohol does not mean the alcohol will be the cause of your death when you die. Lolol silliest sht ive ever heard

6:00 is extremely important. You can harbour resentment, even malice towards people, and those involved in the circumstances and episodes that act as those checkpoints in your life as an addict. You may even be justified in your anger towards people who have been genuinely awful. All that really matters is changing your addictive cycle, and modifying how you respond to those deep patterns' churn, before all you are is pain, desperation and scorched earth bitterness.

Trying to get clean from any addiction is pretty difficult, and people struggle and find it almost impossible to break. I am just happy that people like Patrick finally found the strength to climb out of that darkness that has almost completely taken control of his own life.

The escalation is the biggest draw of addiction. Now yes it happens parents tend to love their kid that they ignore it. To me tho that is love but a twisted one.
