Kit culkin reminded me of my father- he was the guy who never got anywhere athletically. At 5 I started sports and was only in sports my father enjoyed watching. At one point I was told that my Christmas present was my rep uniform when I was picked out for. If I played poorly I was yelled at or at times beaten . By the time I became a adult I hated playing sports and quit . I became addicted to drugs, was grossly overweight and was homeless. I’m now approaching 40 and clean and in the best shape of my life and have a beautiful family. This is something I’d never impose upon my children what my father did to me! I can relate to not allowing my children to meet their grandfather. Mine was abusive verbally and physically. My divorce in 2002 I learned he threw his 4 year old grandson across the room. I had just won custody of my 6 year old daughter and 4 year old son. It took everything I had to not go after him my self physically, but that day a decision was made and I have held to it to this day. I remarried and have two grown girls in college that will never know him. It's unfortunate and I almost allowed it once letting my guard down. Never will I again. It’s pretty sad when we hear stories about actors being in this industry because their parents pushed them into it. Macaulay is not the only actor to emancipated from his parents. Other notable examples are Drew Berrymore and Ariel Winter. But I’m glad to know that he’s getting his life back together with Brenda Song and their child 💙

Also with all these family vloggers and people saying that we don't know what all that does to kids, we do. It's basically exactly this tbh, with some small differences here and there. I honestly could never imagine doing this to my child.

John Cusack actually briefly did that as well in order to shoot a film at 17.

@@calycalyps0 Heard a wild story about a family vlogger told from the daughter's perspective after she cut her mom out of her life. The mom filmed her children 24/7, so much so that they peed and pooped with the door locked and lights off. The mom was such horrid person that she filmed her VERY underaged daughter while she was naked in the tub (nothing to censor anything) and posted it online. It's sad that people will treat their kids like objects in the name of fame and money.
@calycalyps0 Жыл бұрын
@Llamania man yeah i have heard that story too. I can't imagine doing that to my kid. I mean, whether you mean it in a sexual way or not, filming your child naked or similar, when they clearly do not want that is sexual abuse imo. Like, i don't mean like baby bathtub pics that you keep just for yourself, obviously. Though besides that first bath and a few cute and funny moments where you only see my kids face and maybe hos shoulders, i always thought it was weird to just take pictures of him naked, lol. So idk why that used to be so normal to have just tons of bathtub pics of small kids in their photo album. It just makes me sad to know that in a way that family vlogger stuff will become more common

I came back around to Mac after he started appearing on the Redlettermedia channel. His episodes are all great and I highly recommend watching them to anyone who is a fan of either party. They also did an episode where they showed Milwaukee off to Mac on a sightseeing trip and it was a real treat to watch him make fun and get a kick out of visiting my hometown.

I’m happy he was apart of my childhood with Home Alone but I’m even more happy that he has been able to find peace & happiness. It’s a shame it took until his adulthood but just the fact that he was able to distance himself from his dad when he did & find love with Brenda & form a safe haven within his own family is amazing. I’ll always be a fan Mac.

Im really happy to hear that Mac is doing better now with his family bruh. I remember hearing a interview with Allison Stoner where she was talkinga bout how at the start of her 20's she was talking to her friends about what they did as kids, growing up, going to school. And she says in the Interview "And it was then when I realized, Oh I didnt have a Childhood". And that happens to so many kids. Its fucking sad bruh.

Mac is the fucking man. He had every reason to give up yet he turned it all around. As somebody sober of heroin 7 years, this is pure inspiration. What a triumphant return with such a beautiful family. It takes support for us to achieve our greatest. Addicts are usually incredibly creative tortured people who hide from the trauma they’ve felt. I know I sure did. Congratulations Mac! Great video Patrick!

This is why I love your videos. We all knew about his downfall but I had no idea it was due to his father. His dad was literally setting him up to spiral out of control smh. So glad he's found happiness he's deserved it since he's been a kid and never had it until recently. This is probably one of my favorite videos of yours that you've did. Great Job!

Let's take a moment to thank Macaulay's wife Brenda for being there for this man in his desperate time of need. He would probably not be alive if they haven't found each other. I'm glad this man won't be just another statistic. As a child I watched all of Macaulay's movies from uncle buck all the way to the good son hell I even watched party monsters without my parents permission. I'm glad to see him back here and there on tv. He looks really good and very happy

Macaulay was part of this generation's childhood. Im in my 30s now, and when I see him, I see a somewhat fucked up live, that HE took himself back, consitantley. These fun interactions Macaulay has with KZbinrs, Pod-Casts or even for silly sketches like the one from Angry Video Game Nerd are so up-lifting and way entertaining and stuff - You love to see it!
