😲 unbelievable! I cannot believe you paddled up there in an aged dingy you had in your loft 😂 I lived in Sheffield for 10 years (studying & working) and I’d never seen photos never mind a video of that underground area. Fascinating, but there’s no way I’d go down there on my own 😂. All power to you, Pat. Stay out of bother ya mad man. 👍

I used to do a spot of caving with my old chum 'Richard' back in the days when I was fit and able. Richard was one of the finest men to ever walk this earth and a keen caver for many years. I'm 61 now and physically buggered. We did a few places like this but we concentrated mainly on the Coniston Copper Mines. It was a wonderful subterranean world that I'm proud to have entered. I was always shit scared but my Beloved was not, and used to thrill at abseiling down mine shafts and prussicing back up again. Thanks for doing your wonderful videos Patrick. I am with you in spirit, but sadly not in person. Take care and enjoy the subterranean world.

Does appear to be a German bomb, doesn't it? I for one would have felt pretty safe under there, during that air-raid; and how wrong I would have been! Isle Wild Roamer It’s too cold: The average water temperatures in the UK are below the optimum for Crocodiles. Not low enough to kill them, but low enough to make them slow and docile. It gets cold in Florida too, and crocodiles get around this by going into a kind of hibernation mode where they breathe less, their hearts beat slower and they don’t move or eat much. They can survive the winter like this, but they would eventually die.
@aquafinaspringwater98147 жыл бұрын

Great video & fantastic photographs, I was expecting to see a state of the art canoe, It reminded me of the 1970’s public information films warning of the dangers of getting swept out to sea, great video, thanks for filming it

Thanks. Im guessing that the water gets far deeper during periods of heavy rain fall?
@patrickdickinson64927 жыл бұрын
Hi yes it does but with a bit of normal rain not too bad, the area that will be difficult is the open section, more views of this on my May Megatron video, can get quite deep there. Also near the first water falls there are some deep pools 3-4 foot deep, when I first went down I probed every footstep until familiar with route you will find yourself swapping lanes in the three parallel culverts for first section. Also take note of the saying " WHEN IT RAINS STAY OUT OF DRAINS" always worth considering. When it floods in storm conditions parts will be to the roof as bits of debris tree branches up there signify, Hope helpful and happy exploring Pat
@SubExploration7 жыл бұрын
Excellent, thanks for the top advice. Thats a good idea to probe the floor. I shall take a long walking stick or some kind of pole to check for drops. Yes the last thing to want is roof high waters and logs to come crashing into you.

Hi Patrick I've discovered your channel as explain before while waiting for elective hip surgery and it's certainly given me food for thought and helping me set goals when I've had my op and I'm recovering (still waiting op date). I intend to get as fit as possible and push myself to do some wild camping and urban exploration. I'm hoping I will be able to do a bit and I thank you for the inspiration. I would never have known about the megatron and it makes me wonder what I could find in my local area of cheshire (audlem) , anyway many thanks for making such wonderful videos.

Thanks Mike, hope you get your op done soon, must be so restricted at moment, but a great time to plan for the future, hope all goes well, thanks Pat

Hi Patrick, a quick question. Where did this feature get it's name "Megatron" from ? That's more commonly known as a transformers character.
@patrickdickinson64926 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve know what you mean and not 100% sure Built 1870 s certainly not called Megatron, possibly when first modern day explores apart from authorities went down they called it Megatron and it stuck, it's certainly Mega if not only in size, thanks Pat
