@RigorMortis1027 Жыл бұрын
Same here... I always say he's probably the most naturally talented athlete we've ever seen in MMA. Its a shame that his own actions have led to what ultimately amounts to a waste of talent. He could've been head and shoulders at number 1 for over a decade, and on top of every single P4P list without a doubt. What pisses me off more is that he eventually developed a McGregor-esque need to belittle other champions and stars who were just out there being themselves and being the kind of star and athlete he should've been. Always the need to put down the likes of Izzy, DC, Khabib (when he attained P4P No.1) when in reality it was Bones who screwed his own career up... When the beef with DC began, I was fully on Jon's side... now DC is one of my top 5 favorite fighters of all time, even if he isn't necessarily P4P top 5.

That Jon Jones/DC brawl always makes me laugh, Dave Sholler genuinely looks terrified when it starts up, I totally understand his fear though. Standing between 2 apex predators and trying to stop the battle is a losing battle 100/100 for any human

Powerful work. I was in tears.. I hate to think this but I feel like the night the cops heard the gunshot and found jon there, that he might have been at the end of his road...and contemplating the worst... The humility and compassion the cop showed him was probably just what he needed. Jon is such a good person deep down......we all make mistakes and struggle with addiction, hes no different.

When watching a documentary, it's common to focus on the characters or subject matter being explored. However, with Patrick's work, you'll find yourself admiring the skill and artistry of the filmmaker behind the documentary, rather than just the content being presented. Patrick's work highlights the creative talent and vision required to craft a compelling and thought-provoking documentary.

Your docs are awesome man, great choices of music, clips, with excellent pacing. This is stellar storytelling, can't wait for pt 2! Question for you, how are you not flagged for using copywritten music? Are your videos just demonetized? Facebook and KZbin have muted segments of mine, with YT also replacing tracks.

For me, Jon Jones is the personification of MMA & the UFC. Everyone says that GSP embodies the spirit of a mixed martial artist but I just don’t think that’s true, not to Jon’s extent. I think the growth of MMA and the UFC mirrors Jon Jones. What has the UFC’s historical arc looked like? It was considered a trashy bloodsport at one time. Ever since it’s beginnings, it’s been trying to become legitimate - to become something more than just fighters mauling each other for our amusement. Many would say that’s it’s finally transcended into that realm. I don’t know if I agree. Similarly, Jon Jones is one of the most violent fighters to ever exist. He’s a “bad dude trying to be good.” He represents the same struggle as MMA & the UFC i.e. the struggle to transcend their brutal nature into something more, something great. That is MMA. That is Jon Jones. GSP and Khabib are what we *hope* to be, what we hope the UFC can represent. But it’s not reality. Jon Jones is the reality. A man fighting battles on all fronts - spiritually, physically, and mentally. That sort of turmoil and the resistance against our worst nature is what martial arts means to me. That adversity is what creates greatness. It’s why the UFC is so great, and it’s why Jon is so great.
@corspencer Жыл бұрын
That was a beautiful explanation 👏

You're right, St Pierre is the martial arts made human. Jon Jones represente the UFC's vision of Martial arts. No shame, no morals and greed before all.

At first I didn’t think I’d agree but at the end I totally agree both are just messy trying to be clean but it will never be. There will always be controversy and Bs in mma / UFC and that makes it Jon Jones of the sports world

I was an addict. I made many mistakes. I've been to prison. But even on my worst day, I could never run away from that pregnant lady with out making sure she was alright. DC will have to tell his kids that he lost to Jon. But when they grow up they will still be proud of him. Will Jon's kids be proud of him?
