You know I never noticed that the lady in men and black ISNT Will Smith’s love interest. Like there was that joke scene where he thinks she’s flirting with him but in reality she’s a hostage, but aside that they didn’t even imply anything romantic. Men in Black II Syndrome is when the female partner set up at the end for the sequel is killed immediately and replaced by the mentor figure who was the emotional heart of the previous film undoing the repercussions and deflating the tension. Kingsman II suffers this Syndrome.

Mitch Gosser I so agree with this. Men In Black II looked great and like a fun ride when the trailers dropped in theaters in the spring of 2002. But when I seen the movie it felt like a lazy rehash of the first film with unnecessary celebrity cameo appearances, Johnny Knoxville, Nick Cannon, and Michael Jackson. And the heavy ass product placement of Mercedes, Verizon, and motherfucking Burger King. And the villain was a gender swiped version of Edgar the cockroach alien.

The way his movements get progressively jerkier and out of control while he tried to act normal had me on the floor. Still does. Genius. And Tommy Lee Jones deadpan saying the names of the twins, [sound] and Bob. I loved him so much in this movie. And Will Smith was at his lightest, charismatic best, and still brought heart. He was only one of 18 producers on Pushing Daisies. It's actually a Bryan Fuller show. A Series of Unfortunate Events is a Sonnenfeld show, and is better than his recent stuff, but is nowhere near the quality of his best period.

Thank you! I’ve been saying for years that the only movie comparable to the genre mix, lightening in a bottle that is Ghostbusters, it’s this one.

Thank you for loving this movie as much as I do! And weirdly, I never made a mental note of all the crazy 90s clothes J was wearing.

Thank you for actually paying attention to things. This is still the Willenium, the MIB cartoon was fire, and the worms are the best.
