Hopefully this video helps someone out there! Links to Ultimarc Gold Leaf Buttons in video description

Great video Dubs.. I agree, the change is very minor, but still worth it to me. The gold leafs FEEL much better and solid physically when I use them. I switched them in my Arcade Control Panel and ALU as well (I don't play fighters much -- if I do I have more modern buttons on A1ups). The gold leafs have a shorter travel and leaf switches were the originals back in the day when I cared about arcades (80s through early 90s). Hopefully we'll see the actual lag fixed in 6 months. lol

I might do the button swap, I am conflicted as I like the Baolin feel better than the gold leafs, since I split between the baolian and gold leafs on my alps. I am surprised you did the nudge, hope it doesnt make it too sensitive. I am also surprised you didnt bust out a button wrench, I love mine, it makes that removal and tightening so easy!

I grabbed what I had on hand lol

Always good to check, though since the lag is less when effects are turned off, that strongly suggests the issue is an ARM chipset trying to run an engine that's not best suited for it.

I would have lit up the buttons, now that you were removing them. They still look great !

I’ve said all along since installing the Gold Leaf buttons that I noticed a very slight decrease in button to flipper response time. It does not completely eliminate it. Not even close. But, I’ll take an ever so slight decrease along with the fact that those buttons just look better with the table. I didn’t change out the ones on the front of the machine yet. Not sure if I will.

Excellent feedback and I agree

Do you know if the button wires on the HD ALP cabinets come with the push-tabs for easy disconnection of the wires?
@PDubsArcadeLoft8 ай бұрын
They should they are the exact same buttons on the 4k and HD
@coreyalexander90598 ай бұрын
I'll find out today. From other videos I've seen, it looks like they may be different, and different people mentioned a fear of damaging the wires (because they were so snug), and the use of pliers to disconnect them.
@strells8 ай бұрын
You should probably use a button wrench instead of pliers, but it probably wouldn't fit because of the plunger box.
@PDubsArcadeLoft8 ай бұрын
Yep easy peezy with the plunger box there to just use pliers

Flipper lag is definitely a software issue BUT to me the gold leaf switches are much smoother and just feel better. To me there's more than just the time between the switch making contact and the flipper moving. It's also the time from when my brain tells my finger to move and the switch makes contact. A grindy switch takes longer to make that initial contact. So long story short I feel they're both an aesthetic upgrade as well as an ergonomic upgrade.

Appreciate the feedback Johm thanks for sharing!

Seems it's the engine not getting along optimum with the chipset. The lag is less with effects off. They'll need to reduce other things to give them more resource cycles. If better chipset, no lag, but another hundred retail to recoup cost and profit.

The glue isn't stock. 19kfox used his stealth abilities to sneak into your house and applied a liberal amount of Loctite.

Not sure why people insisted that a hardware fix like that would fix the software lag.

They live in denial, new buttons maybe improved it by less than 10% these ultimarc are better than the baolin stock
@macdox697 ай бұрын
For me, I changed all mine just for the audio difference. I hate the click sound on the stock buttons. Maybe that's a design decision and it's a cheap man's solenoid!! :)
