In my fanfic he's an ex-Decepticon. Back in the day, when he went by Twinferno, the Monstercons were a trio of vicious goons serving under Obsidian (Twinferno was the sane, level headed one between Repugnus bloodlust & Grotusque's child like stupidity, his reasonable advice more often than not ignored, much to his chagrin). Prowl, pragmatist that he was, offered them a simple deal: defect and you'll get your own pad. Repugnus immediately jumped onboard, rechristening his crew the Monsterbots. Consequently they were met with extreme hostility from their former Con peers. Twinferno in particular seemed to get slagged on the worst, being given the nickname Doublecross.

Thanks for this review, great way to round off this excellent series. What a great bot, I didn't own this one back in the day, but wish I did. I had no idea how good the molded detail was and I love the saw blade as well (very apt for Halloween/horror). Will definitely get this guys MP equivalent and will need to look out for G1 bot as well. Great alt and bot mode. Also love the Halloween pictures of you and your rockin son - love Cooper and had no idea he done the theme song for one if the Jason films.

Now this is my favorite Monsterbot as a character. The whole arguing heads thing is always fun and I really enjoy any arguing two-headed characters. XD And LOL, Dylan seems to be having the fun of his life in that Alice Cooper get up. :D LOL, that PSA at the end... like Ultra Marcus would say: "You callin' me a dirty son-of-a-b*tch." XD

Fantastic review. Wish did get these guys as well as got their Titan returns updates. Still Double Cross looks to be the most poseable G1 transformer I know of.

The Monsterbots are like the Dinobots, just fantasy modes. I wish they were in the G1 cartoons with their tough attitude. Both groups would have been great in a strike team battle against the Decepticons.

Very awesome family Halloween photo, and review. I agree that Doublecross is the best designed of the team, he almost seems like he was created separately from the other two. Not just his design but also his gimmick seems like they were made to be a part of another team/concept, or he was the first created of the three and the other two were made to fill out the team. His transformation sequence reminds me of the Dinobots, unlike the other in his team. Also I hope you and your family have a very Happy Halloween, and I hope you have fun at TFCON. I have never been to a convention but always wanted to, but now I am not sure because of that "warning" you gave. lol

Excellent... AND hilarious... PSA!! It's funny because it's true! I've been to hundreds of Cons over the years, and it seems like personal hygiene is a REAL problem... I don't know WHY, considering how basic it is... A little shower 🚿, a little Deodorant, and BAM!! All done and ready to interact WITH OTHER people, who just might NOT appreciate the smell of armpits, sweaty stank@$$, and that sour can't-be-bothered-to-shower-coz-I'm-playing-Yugio-and-$#!t smell... It's vile and putrid and NO ONE wants to have to smell that mess. 😵😵😵😵😵 LOL Seriously though, this was an excellent review. Definitely the best of the three, and MY personal favorite Monsterbot! This is one that I'd like to add to my small G1 collection... Maybe one of these days. I REALLY liked the TR update for the G3 Universe, and his new name, "Twinferno", but I DO wish a good KO company would oversize the new Monsterbot figures, and tweak a few improvements on them at a voyager class scale. (I got TR Skullcruncher, Hardhead, Brainstorm, and Highbrow like that, and they were awesome! I actually even decided to get a second Hardhead & Highbrow (for head swap) to do a custom Fortress Maximus before he was SO massively upscaled into a city/fortress, and before he became Cerebros.) Voyager class versions of these characters would be awesome to have displayed with voyager Dinobots, and/or to battle the Decepticon Monsterbot Headmasters. Anyway, keep up the awesome work, brother! Hooo-ah!!
