Careful when filming back to back Reviews...I called Grotusque "Repugnus" as soon as I held him up to the camera. Went over that intro 4 times during editing and never caught it.

I remember taking grotusque to show and tell in second grade and turning all the lights off to show the spark. I loved it!

Massive fan PP. Grotesque (I don't ever correct people's pronunciation, but yours really bothered me: it's "gro-tesk") isn't a squirrel, a sabertooth tiger, a rat or anything you mentioned, he's the very TRUEST Monsterbot, just a demon from hell!!! I love his head-sculpt too, I think it's a deliberate juxtaposition that he's called Grotesque and looks suitably grotesque in his alt mode, but has one of the most symmetrical and attractive robot mode head sculpts of any G1 Transformer. I still have my G1 Grotesque , but he's missing a wing... G1 parts-formers, what are you gonna do? SO impressed yours still is able to emit any sparks at all...

I have had this figure since it came out, and I'm pretty sure I have been mis-transforming him my entire life! I don't think I knew the waist moved for transformation... I'm gonna go hide in my corner for a while...

Great review of one of my favourite G1 figures. I loved, loved Grotusque and he was one of the last Transformers I owned as a kid. I loved everything from the Sabretooth, beaver, dragon, purple, blue coloured thingy alt mode, and of course the sparking gimmick. I love both the robot and alt mode. As an adult, I bought FansHobby FlyPro (their take on a MP Grotusque), absolutely fantastic, although no sparking gimmick. But, Fanshobby alt mode, doesn't have a beaver head in sight, more of a Sabretooth. Looking forward to see your review of Double Cross,

It's a toy that I made as a plastic model when I was young. It's exactly the same. There was no spark gimmick in the plastic model.

Really cool Robot mode and well itvis a Monster bot and maybe this was that one company's idea for the giant mutant beavers attacking your pants. Haven't seen their commercials lately so can think of the name. Oh wait its Duluth's. (I think?) Man that explains the price on the titans return update. Did not know he was a con exclusive. Will be looking for both.

Excellent review, brother! Never had these guys growing up, but I sure did look at those factory packed Transformers brochures a lot, lol. I wasn't necessarily eager to get them or anything, but I wondered what they were like and what's their story, stuff like that. Flash forward to TR/PotP and these guys ALL get released with modern articulation and great sculpting & engineering... Awesome looking figures, albeit a bit smaller than I'd have preferred (them AND the Dinobots, actually...). Nonetheless, I somehow managed to get all 3, NO THANKS TO HASBRO (aside from making them, obviously), so I finally have them in my collection. That said, I keep hoping a KO company will give them the oversize treatment, like they did with TR Skullcruncher, Hardhead & company, so I can also have them at a larger voyager scale to go up against the upcoming Apeface and eventual Snapdragon Monstercon Headmasters. Isn't looking too likely at this point, but I'm still hopeful. If not, I'm still quite happy with my G3 versions. I always thought flying walrus rather than tiger on that alt mode weirdness, lol, I dunno WHY...! 😅😅😅 A Sabertooth Tiger is MUCH cooler than a Walrus... Which also has big tusks, a tapering tail, although the gray coloring pushes it more to walrus in MY mind, as opposed to dark walrus brown or tiger orange but whatever, it was weird either way, lol. Looking forward to Crosshairs, aka Twinferno, next. He was my favorite... Well, I mean, COME ON...! TWO-headed Dragon/robot 🤖?! 😅😅😅 Hooo-ah, brother!

I think you mean "DOUBLECROSS", I've already reviewed "CROSSHAIRS", the Autobot Targetmaster. Walrus never crossed my mind and now that's all I see.

@@PatriotPrimeReviews He's the Walrus! LOL😅😅😅 Yeah, Doublecross! I was thinking it, but apparently typed way the wrong thing, LOL! Ah well, you knew what I meant and that's what matters, right? I gotta say though... Of ALL the Hasbro copyright screw up name changes they've done so far, I prefer the name "Twinferno" over "Doublecross". I KNOW the name was a play on words, because he has two heads and that made him twice (double) as angry, aka "cross", and therefore he was "doubly cross", hence "Doublecross"... I know it, I get it, but I've ALWAYS hated it. To ME, it always felt more like a Decepticon name, like DOUBLE DEALER, or a Double spy, like Punch-Counterpunch. It MADE sense, it just didn't feel quite right in my mind, so I was happy when he was rebranded as "TWINFERNO", because again, TWO headed fire breathing Dragon, man! (Of course, "Crossfire" would have probably worked too...)
