Didnt realize we're suppose to cheer losing by 33 at home, having the worst record in the league and a joke as a head coach. A friggin penguin is qualified to do mayos job

As a Pats fan this year is the worst since the early 90s. In my opinion worst WR room ever. Even the dumpster fire of the 1990 season they had Irving Fryar, Hart Lee (who ended up being a bust), and Marv Cook at TE. There has to be sweeping changes after the game vs Buffalo. Was it Eliot's decision to trade down when Ladd was there for the picking at 34 and all those other questionable acquisitions? It is going to be a long offseason for sure. I was at that 40 7 game vs the Chargers stayed the whole game sitting 20 rows back. The booing was loud for sure.

Tavai is full of it. The fans are paying a king's ransom to get into Gillette Stadium and while many of us knew the Pats were in a rebuilding phase, when the fans see their team catch such a savage beatdown, they're gonna be unhappy.

Welcome to the NFL, kid. You’re getting paid good money to play and the fans pay good money to watch you. If you don’t play well, expect to hear about it.

This team is awful. Theres been a culture change post-Belichick but not a good one. It's full of players that keep making excuses for bad play and getting triggered over fans rightfully calling out how bad they are. Mayo is just a poor man's Belichick without any of the qualities that made him an amazing coach who also can't stop putting his foot in his mouth during interviews. Eliot Wolf didn't do enough to improve this roster in fact, it's worse in some areas. Especially the defense which used to be this team's strength. Fans are mad because the coaching is bad, the roster is bad, and theres a fear that the only good aspect of this season, Drake Maye's play as a rookie will be all for nothing when the Patriots ruin him due to pure incompetence.

What Tavai said was absolutely abhorrent and completely unacceptable. Every fan has a right to boo their respective team when they’re not playing well, especially if it’s a blowout game, or when things aren’t going their way. It’s like saying that you’re not allowed to boo the Yankees when they’re bad. It’s completely ridiculous to how that would be acceptable.
@InchonDM2 күн бұрын
I don't disagree with your overall point, but I do take umbrage to your example. That implies the Yankees have been actually bad at any point in the last twenty-five years. I know their fans regard anything less than 100 wins as a failure but even in the 2023 year where they played miserable baseball and missed the postseason, they were still above .500 at the end and went right back to the damn World Series the next year. As a fan of a team that has been actual bad well within recent memory, there's no perspective on that fanbase at all.

Great video! .. Hello from a Generation X'er in northeast Ohio. My Cleveland Browns have become one of the worst teams in the NFL, and the fans are with a number of reasons to boo.

They have been awful since 99. What's up with the stadium situation? There has been wrangling between building a new one by the airport vs renovating the existing one.

My guy needs to understand that these fans are the reason he has a job. No one pays money to see the game, there's no league. They're used to to Patriots winning games 40-7 for 20 years. They pay to cheer or jeer. He needs to change his attitude after he changes his diaper.

Fans and players of the same franchise may sometimes end up at odds with each other after a difficult season like the Pats had this year. You cant win them all, but NFL fans dont often believe that applies to us all. Maybe its the cost of tickets and everything else involved in spending the majority of a day in support of a bad football team? Players are young people who are treated like they should be given loads of entitlement and always be equipped to handle it. The media focus’s on these negatives because i guess its more attractive to their viewers/readers than a story about the postitive things these young men often do. So whos wrong here? Maybe everyone is, maybe no one? Sometimes teams just arent that good, and when things are bad it creates tension where there once was harmony. Welcome to life as a bad team New England Patriot faithful…..Im sure no other NFL fans feel bad for you.

Are you going to a game where the competitors are being paid (or otherwise compensated) to play? Feel free to boo or demonstrate frustration in a reasonable manner proportional to the compensation the competitors are getting. Are you going to a game where the competitors are paying to play? I might not cheer everything, but I won't boo. Guess which category Jahlani Tavai fits in...

You don't even need to be a football fan to know that 40-7 is bad. You just need to know what numbers are. That's all the qualification necessary.

So, a rich guy tells the people who buy his product that ‘they need to know their place’. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. Certainly, Tavai realizes that the reason he’s wealthy is because the fans (and why they’re fans of that particular team in the last quarter-century is beyond me) give till it hurts to Robert Kraft, who, in turn, signs his paychecks. The last time I checked, excoriating one’s customers is a sure sign of ingratitude. It could also be understood as a sign of entitlement. Tavai here has demonstrated that he is an entitled ingrate. He’s cut from the same cloth as Musk, Bezos, Murdoch and others we could name-paid by their customers, yet doing everything possible to demonstrate that they don’t appreciate those same customers. All four of these individuals are wrong in their attitude. However, the added self-imposed problem for Tavai is the fact that he’s an employee, and not an owner. As much as I can’t stand Robert Kraft, I doubt that even he is willing to put up with the elitism on full display from Tavai much longer. Then again, perhaps I’m expecting too much from Robert Kraft. After all, he’s the one who sanctioned the shenanigans of Bellichick, Brady and Co.-from videotaping opposition practices to blatant deflation of footballs (and that’s what’s been reported)-all those years. It’s enough to merit its own off-the-field episode of “Dumb Decisions”.

He's exactly what this team is. He's not the only player who's attacking the fans, everyone from the GM to the coach to the players are taking pot shots at each other and trying to pass of the blame, no one takes accountability for anything, and barring a few outliers, everyone is perfectly happy with being terrible. This attitude IS the 2024 patriots. That's why the fanbase is so upset.
