I don't think he's trying to fool anyone. I just think he's just trying to keep the media heat off of his players (e.g., unlike teams like Pittsburgh where they've had very talented teams but it's a complete media circus). So, Belichick would rather have all media hate/attention directed towards himself so that his players really don't have to deal with much of it... and they can just focus on doing their job w/o many distractions. It's excellent off of the field gamesmanship.

Every coach who responded to it stated it wouldn't have mattered as they switch play calls every week or even during the game. That was the first game of the season. From that point on the Pats went what? 22-0. You are angry. We understand. Who ever your team is has been crushed by the greatest coach in the game over and over. They always will be. No it did not. Belichick is talking about being on your own goal line, not the opposing teams'. He's explaining that if the offense is backed up on their own goal line, it makes sense for them to go to the hard count to try to get the Defense to jump offsides because they have nothing to lose (they can only be penalized inches). This is obviously the opposite of what happened in the Seahawks SB.

The results speak for themselves. As a Giants fan I'm glad he was with us for awhile and he always speaks fondly of those years and the organization. I think his talent is knowing how to coach and get the most out of each individual player he coaches. He doesn't coach every guy the same. He has his standards obviously but he doesn't expect players to be something they're not. He finds out what a player is particularly good at and has them do more of it. Everyone enjoys doing what they're great or good at. Then probably strengthens there weaknesses over time. Managers and bosses would be wise to study this man. My humble opinion.

All 32 teams are on an even playing field believe that. Success breeds envy especially in the salary cap era where parity is not suppose to exsist Coach Belichek mastered it and form the only dynasty and team to repeat this millennium and the Salary cap and this will be the final dynasty that will end at two decades! Parity will come into play and as time passes and a decade goes by of all different champions that will be the parity the NFL longed for by installing the cap but the Genius and #Goat figured that code out and spoiled there plans and the league and owners resent them for that and that's why we have had to deal with the bs.

I'm not a Patriots fan but I really like this dude and his football acumen. He comes off as droll in press conferences but that's cause you can tell he doesn't like the media too much. In interviews and mic'd up videos like this, he seems like a real personable guy with a great sense of humor. I would be cracking up at him but would play hard as hell for him.

Hate all you want. I bet if you had a chance to have Belichick and Brady on your teams in the 2000's, you'd take it in a heartbeat. Anyone who says 'no' obviously doesn't know anything about football or player/coach talents and skills. Those two have been the best at their jobs for the last decade and a half. Even Bob Kraft is top 3 for best owner. This organization is amazing from top to bottom.

I am not a Patriots fan however, I have such huge RESPECT for what this team does every year. It it’s no secret, that Belichick is a absolute football genius! Not only does he know the game inside and out but his ability to lead his staff and players to the commitment of excellence is jaw-dropping! I am a Dallas fan and have to endure the misery of watching an organization screw it up year after year since Jones ran off Jimmy Johnson! Belichick and Johnson are very close friends and you wonder how he was able to get to and win Superbowls? 23 years since Dallas has been to a Super Bowl but the Patriots threaten every single year! Belichick is the best!

The funny thing is almost everyone outside NE hates belichik except I bet none of them would really complain if he became their favorite team's head coach outside maybe the steelers, giants and seahawks.

I love how everyone calls Bill a cheater when every coach in the NFL was doing the same exact thing for years prior. The NFL just decided to make an example out of Bill to prove their point to the rest of the league. And also, filming your opponents sideline was legal and considered a part of the game for years before the NFL stepped in.

Dave Dorger yeah you're right... mccarthy didn't even become a head coach until the year before it was implemented... smh. many coaches have come out and said it was commonplace, including jimmie johnson and his cowboys dynasty... And how do we know coughlin didnt? the only reason the league acted is because the jets hc at the time was on the patriots staff years prior and was the whistleblower after his team got trounced by the patriots (sounds familiar, deflategate?). He has also come out since and said he wishes he had never said anything

@xaviervega46810 жыл бұрын
What he's done this year is nothing short of incredible. The defense is being held together with duct tape and Tom Brady struggled the first half of the year....and the Pats are still winning. Should be Coach of the Year IMO.
@PsychoMantis0410 жыл бұрын
Without Tom they would be 5-15 dude LOL. This years pats team was filled with injuries. OF course Tom struggled, Welker was in Denver, Hernandez is in jail, and Gronk was injured most of the time. Brady was throwing to Thompkins,Eldleman, and Dobson. I would love to see Manning or Brees throw to Dobson and Thompkins all year. lol The Pats this year, despite the injuries, was the highest scoring team in the NFL since week 9.

@@branden3785 Patriots had the ball at the 1yd line after the INT. Stork gave some head bobs, Tom with the hard cadence, and they drew Bennett offsides... its literally the exact scenario Bill is describing lol. Sure he's explaining it to a DL in this clip, but he's obviously explained it to his OL as well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r32sZp2XmK10l68
