I started watching your program because David Phelps has been one of my favorite singers for a long time. I absolutely have grown to love your tender heart and how you love music! Lyle, I want you to know I am from Texas and listen to you each day, especially when you are playing my ultimate favorite David Phelps. I hope you will get a chance to see him in person because the experience is amazing. I understand what you mean every time you say, "Oh, Wow, Wow, Man, Holy Crap", and enjoy your laughs for songs which seem out of his genre, i.e., The Star Spangled Banner. I just laughed and laughed as you were trying to wrap your head around him playing it with a Led Zepplin kick. I LOVE it! I also want to tell you how much I respect how you feel free to express your feelings and emotions and your journey in life, because through that we become closer to the family of God. I'm so glad you discovered David and enjoy him as much as the world does. I remember the first time you analyzed one of David’s songs. You were completely overwhelmed, unaware who you were about to critique. Not only does David hold a vocal performance degree from Baylor University and can execute all genres of music, his heart and soul are in his sacred music. The only way to explain David’s gift, to connect with the listener, is that his voice is truly anointed by God. Just like King David, a shepherd boy, who became the greatest king of Israel and a “man after God’s own heart”, David sings his sermons and ministers to our hearts. As a professional singer (vocal degreed too), I respect every technical method he intentionally uses with his voice to deliver the message to our very souls. May God heal your heart every time you listen to David’s songs.....his anointing from God sets him apart, as a chosen servant!

Not everybody who commits suicide is being selfish. Some really are overwhelmed and seeking escape. That's a cruel thing to say to the people left behind. The people left behind need our love and support, not harsh words. The loss of your baby bro will always hurt. I luv that you gave him wings on your arm. That's such a big brother thing to do! I think David's music is so powerful because of the spirit he brings. He is incredibly brilliant and talented, but he genuinely knows the One to whom he sings. I had the chance to join in on a live Zoom Q & A with him and his wife, Lori, and they are such gracious and humble people. You can sense that depth of faith and love when he sings.

It was the first time I actually listened to the entirety of Fly Again. Every time I had tried to listen to it before I never made it to the first chorus. All I could think about was my Mother (passed in 2009) and the two uncles I’ve lost over the past year. Seeing David sing it after telling the story behind the song was such a blessing. PG - I so wish you could meet David in person, and attend one of his concerts! It's evident you love his music and messages, as we do, dear brother. I feel the weight of your loss (family members) and see how deeply you care and love. God created you with those innate traits that loved your brother and others so dearly. I, too, struggled (teens-30s, esp.) with intense distress and angst (sensitive spirit) re the evil and harshness of this life. Though I tried several times to "leave early," it wasn't to be. I met my husband (David) and would like to believe my Heavenly Father knew of the ways I could/would impact others before leaving this world behind. I trust you know the free and eternal gift of Grace (which is the Gospel of Salvation through the work and sacrificial love of Jesus Christ). For it is, indeed, Good News :) His tender mercies, which ARE new every morning, have been my ONLY true hope in a world of uncertainty, inhumanity, and strife. He has given me the peace and Comfort needed to pass through the various storms and challenges in life. I believe (and the prophecies in Scriptures about the End Times speak to this) that we can rest assured that the Prince of Peace is coming to judge Satan and all who worship/follow him (he has had temporary reign of earth). There is an expiration date and those who are true Believers WILL escape His coming judgement. My husband and I have prayed for you every time we listen to a song you upload/play on your channel (from David Phelps or a Gaither song). We're sensing how healing this music is/has been for you, over time. I believe the Holy Spirit speaks to each of us in different ways and through different means. Perhaps, you can sense our Savior calling out to you and comforting you as the message of His love and peace is sung over you through David Phelps and other Gospel singers. Oh wow, this really hits you. So so sorry. How painful. Gosh I'm sorry. It hit me too. But not so tragically. My Grandma had cancer but she wasn't real sick yet. She calls me one night. She's 3 hours away. She says it's time to go. I said what? Gramma are you feeling bad? What's wrong. She said no, I don't feel bad but it's time. I said I'll pack up Haylie (my little girl) and leave in the morning. She said OK but I might not be here. When I got there sure enough, she was unresponsive except for 1 brief moment she came to and reached for me. Next day she was holding my hand and I watched her take her last peaceful breath. Somehow I knew it was gonna be her last. I'm honored she chose to share that moment with her. But she knew where she was going. She showed me that there doesn't have to be fear in death if you have faithi. You hear people say that suicide is a sin. That you won't get rewarded with heaven. I don't buy it. My God is a loving God and he made us, he understands us. He would never punish pain and desperation. That's my take on it. I'll pray for you. And hope you find comfort in knowing your brothers wings are no longer broken. Thank you for your reactions. I love them.

My mother recently just passed away and our family has taken great comfort in these two songs knowing that the gospel Jesus Christ is our true hope! 1 Corinthians 15 :1-4 ! Mom would listen to these 2 songs and just smile in perfect peace , trusting in the promises of God (ROM 10:9,10) our hope as a family that others would experience genuine peace in the midst of mourning but we mourn with a confidence that we will see her again because of our Faith in Christ alone and the shed blood of Christ at Calvary! I too have lost my mother father and brother in a 15 month period just like you! ( haven’t got tattoos yet , so I need suggestions) We have true hope even given our sorrow! Depression is a hard thing to get through. Some people just can't take it and want peace. He wasn't being selfish, he just didn't know what to do other than that. Some will say if you commit suicide you won't go to heaven. That's NOT true. God knows our hearts and He knows why people take their lives. He gives them an opportunity to repent. Only those who are truly evil are the ones who have to worry. Hugs!!
