This song was a Grammy winner for him. Best Country Male performance. The video that was suggested for next "What are you listening to?" is a must see. Has a story to go with it as well...

Powerful and painful . . . if you haven't been there (sitting in the same room with someone who doesn't love you anymore, and feeling more than lonely . . . stranded on a desert island ) you don't get it. I ran from holding my breath to not able to catch my breath. Mr. Stapleton truly pushes through MAXIMUM emotion and passion with simply his guitar and voice. Talk about a God-given talent!

I have been there in that type of relationship. It was like swimming in a pool of darkness with no hope of finding a light. I gave up for a long time and almost drowned myself in tears.

The first time I heard this I was living it at that moment. I cried my eyes out. Listening to it in my separate room. Thankfully I'm not in that place anymore but lawd have mercy every song he sings goes straight to my soul! Love your reactions so much!

Lyrics: [Verse 1] We pass in the hall On our way to separate rooms The only time we ever talk Is when the monthly bills are due [Pre-Chorus 1] We go to work, we go to church We fake the perfect life I'm past the point of give a damn And all my tears are cried [Chorus] We can just go on like this Say the word, we'll call it quits Baby, you can go or you can stay But I won't love you either way [Verse 2] It's been so long since I've felt Anything inside these walls You can't hate and you can't hurt When you don't feel at all [Pre-Chorus 2] I used to cry and stay up nights And wonder what went wrong And it's been hard But hearts can only do that for so long

His voice. The way he sings. I dont think it would affect me the way this song makes me feel if it was sung by anybody else. Its just Chris. You can always tell when someone else is feeling it too. You and Blue always put a smile on my face.

Chris Stapleton always hits me in the feels. Two people living together on the downslope of their relationship is so hard. Been there, done that & it sucked.

Chris just says so much with just his voice, and no bells and whistles. Taj Farrant, 9 year old from Australia, playing Tennessee Whiskey and killing it. Please react, if you haven't heard him.

This was my life for half of my last marriage. I know all these feelings and had all these same thoughts but until I heard this song I never really put it all together. Chris Stapleton is a lyrical genius, his guitar playing and singing are just icing on the cake.

Thank you for your real and honest reaction to the music and artists. I am very happy I found your channel. I first clicked on you because you were reacting to Beth and Joe, I won't even tell you how long I have been asking the other channel for Beth and Joe, but all I got was ignored. Sorry this is not about them it is about you. You are doing great job and I look forward to your videos, you make me smile. So thank you.

A girl I worked with, her and her husband are big Chris Stapleton fans. She came in one day and said that song was now her and her husband favorite, felt like it was written about them. They were recently married and supposably happy. I asked her if she was sure it was about them? Then told her to actually listen to words. Came in next day and said we still love the song but it’s not “our song”. Chris Stapleton is unbelievable. Love to watch your reaction, they are real.

Chris originally wrote this in about 2008, along with a couple of other writers, and Lee Anne Womack had a hit with it.

Please react to Post Modern Jukebox or PMJ. Especially Morgan James Dream On. They take newer songs and arrange the like 30 ,40,50s songs.

Finally,you've gotten around to reacting to Either Way!I'm not reprimanding you,so don't worry.You're cool:-) The song is written and sung by Lee Ann Womack.There's another video of Stapleton singing it in her honor.You should check out how it's originally sung by Womack when you get a chance.Also,Fred Hadley (a KZbinr) does an amazing job with the song as well.I think Either Way (Stapleton's version) is one of the most popular songs sung by KZbinrs,from what I've seen.
@ginar15025 жыл бұрын
Marcos Rivera Actually Chris Stapleton wrote this song over 10 years ago (google it). Lee Ann Womack released the song in 2008 but she did not write it, he did, as he has written many songs for other artists long before he debuted
