Valid question! This bike is my number 1 option, but I'm afraid to pull the trigger, since I'm 5'8", and I feel like the step over model may be too tall.

Sounds like a Suntour coil w/ no damper. Not that the Suntour XCT is a bad fork. I've had worse moderately expensive Rockshox forks that are silent.
