Patsy Cline's singing is completely effortless. She ranks right up there with Garland, Streisand and every other great female vocalist!! Her talent, voice and presence is beyond amazing!!

I love how she sometimes puts her hands behind her back and sings her heart out. So confident and utterly adorable ❤

This TV clip fills me with much sorrow. Patsy died in a plane crash shortly after this live TV appearance. Country music never recovered from her death. Her death was a great loss to American popular music.

It's hard to believe she's singing that LIVE. She really owns this song.

Just plain talent....live no fancy gimmicks. True musicians.... Thanks for posting this. Notice the Fender VI bass playing along w the stand up bass. The Drummer w just snare.

Ditto Herb Houston! Patsy's voice just chills down my spine every time I hear her. I particularly love the way she doesn't even wait for the band to come in on this version. That was so perfect for her to do because when she sang it was first and foremost about her voice, it was always the lead instrument because no instrument could compare!!

All her songs you got a full dose of Patsy, start to finish. No instrumental interludes or solos to interrupt that wonderful voice.

Didn't even need a note. Apparently Patsy couldn't read music, but she had the rare gift of perfect pitch.

Now that is a real pro right there. I heard several mistakes from the band backing her: missed entrances, wrong notes, etc. But Patsy just sang as though they never missed a thing. Huge respect.

I have no idea how many times I've listened to this song or watched this video, but I can tell you this; I enjoyed it every time! What an amazing voice! She left this old world much too soon! As long as I'm alive I will sorely miss her!

@Benjamin Hama Thank you for the acknowledgement. I've read patsys autobiography and she grew up poor. But, most talented artists do and some don't get a chance because they are judged. She died way too soon. 😢

Such a great performance... with that said though, unfortunately at some point in the last 60 years somebody has slightly skewed this footage so it's stretched a little bit, I guess to fit the widescreen format... but now it makes Patsy look like she was carrying an extra 30 pounds, the guitar's neck is wider, the drum is elongated, etc. I'd love to see the original in the original aspect ratio to see what these people really looked like.
