A customer in my local tackle shop gave me 2 of these he had tyde. I used them opening day at Bewl water UK. Floating line, 15 ft 6lb floro. I gust cast out let them sink to the bottom and let the wind move the line. 8 3lb trout in 2 hours. Great fly, just dont pull it!

Hi Mak! Cool fly, like a blood worm mated an octopus ;o), at first I thought that was a variant of Guthrie's Satanic Buzzer but that just has the two 'horns' of Flexi-floss at the head. I saw Guthrie's pattern in Fly Fishing & Fly Tying back in 2013. That magazine was my UK connection, lots of patterns and fishing techniques I'm not familiar with here in the US. But It became hard to find and now with Covid I haven't been looking for it :o( So I'm pretty sure I've seen Apps BW in that magazine, and lots of leggy bugs like it. I know blood worms are great fish food (they use live ones for ice fishing), so thanks Mak for showing these awesome well tied patterns!

Thank you Joe, I am glad you like it, I am going to have to Google this Guthrie Satanic Buzzer sound really Scary LOl'''. There are so many new Pattern I am also not familiar with either 🤣 🤣 🤣 , Regards,, Mak

I have some experience with large browns and doing something like this in a size 6 streamer fly with something around the size of orange weed Wacker cord about 4"s would definitely produce in large lakes. I have had browns attack the weed water cord attached to my fins that is tied to my float tube several times and actually caught them by hand in my lap where they were attached.
