I live in Thailand but I went a little more extreme in my "I am not particularly fond of people" quest as I moved about 60 miles west of Bangkok in a small village near Ratchaburi. I agree that the ocean view is amazing; that the cost of that place is awesome and seeing your personality makes me think you will like it much better. As I said I live here and find Thai blogs pretty blah, yours was very nicely done and you have a great personality and voice to do these videos with! Thank you for showing me exactly what I want from life. Your the first to do more than the usual Pattaya vlog. Nothing wrong with that. But I want ocean, beach, and sand under my feet every day. I live in Australia with beaches to spare, but the cost if you want a beach life in retirement is a not that cheap dive miles from the beach (so need a car) and having a very tight budget. It's a week for what you pay a month there. I could probably save money there. F***ING amazing. I lived in china for seven years and travel SE Asia but never got to Thailand. jomtien is insane,... the condo complexes there are stunning and one of the few genuinely cheap places left in Asia, plus jomtien is pretty nice... so win win all around.. heading back there for 2-3 months in november hopefully.... been stuck in manila and bohol during covid.
@30AndAWakeUp3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I really like Jomtien.

Wow, take it for a year! Perfect, and practically free by U.S. standards. My friend lives on an upper floor of one of the View Talay towers right on Pattaya beach. Insane view directly behind where the barge was placed during the fireworks show a few weeks back.

Love the video Kev! We just moved back to the USA from the Philippines (May 2021), and we're looking for our next adventure, and Pattaya is definitely on the list, for a long term stay (2-3 months). When you first arrived, did you have something set up right away, or did you have a temporary Airbnb/hotel to start your search for a longer term accommodation? Stay safe out there! New sub!

I was in Bangkok first. and I had an Airbnb set up. When I came down to Pattaya I booked a 30 day AirBnB.

Wow, what a great place! It is so minimalist and classy. And the view; phenomenal!! The size of the place is perfect. Is this the sort of place you would buy, for your base?
@30AndAWakeUp3 жыл бұрын
I would if I was interested in a permanent place. But I like switching every month or two. I get bored after a couple months!

That looks like a great place!...Does the Baht bus run along that road outside?....how much for a taxi into central Pattaya?....If you wanted that place for 6-12 months could you get the good price through airbnb or would you go direct to the place itself?...whats the name of the place?... Sorry, so many questions!...great video :)
@30AndAWakeUp3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they do but harder to find at the moment because of the lack of tourist. They have two apps called Grab and Bolt - you can get to Central Pattaya on those apps for as little as as $2.

It’s beautiful place but when you stood by the edge of the balcony my heart dropped. I can’t live in place higher than six stories level 😂😂. The beach area looks great and thank you for sharing your video with us I did enjoy it.

yeah...it doesnt really show how high that rail is..it's like 4 and a half feet tall. I had vertigo at first but now Im used to the height. Im enjoying a ridiculously gorgeous sunset over the Island of Koh Lan right now....so it's worth it I think! :)

The beach looks like a 'no waves and no clear water' lake... BORRRRRING... and a tsunami would DESTROY all those shoreline pools and hotels. I'll pass and take (Tamarindo and Manuel Antonio) Costa Rica over this any day.

yeah, definitely different strokes for different folks. Spent lots of time surfing in Costa Rica....I personally enjoy them both.
