Pattaya SONGKRAN MADNESS!

This past week Karl’s Thailand was helping to secure video of the madness that is Thailand’s Songkran water festival for ‪@ThePattayaNews‬ . Songkran is the larger than life celebration of the Thai (Buddhist) New Year.
Songkran in Pattaya 2024 just may have been the maddest ever so this week I have made a shortish edit of some of my footage. Soi 6, Soi 7, 2nd Road and Beach Road Pattaya feature heavily.

Gday Karl, looks like fun mate, I personally think it just goes for to long in patts and also at nite. I enjoyed my songkran up country with thai family, a bit more subdued but it's not all about throwing water at each other, Im sure you know that. cheers

I was filming it for TPN Jimmy so it's not vlogging style apart from the very last scene. It was so mad that I actually got ill and hat to have a course of antibiotics. It did go on too long in Pattaya this year. Cheers

Hi Karl great time was had by all 555 , not as mad in our village but wild enough. Cold ice water down the back is the one that gets me, Thais do know how to party and they do it well Happy days . 👍

fascinating seeing how much water accumulates in "low spots". people are wading ankle-deep in it. hoping no water damage with the gear.

I had my action camera in a metal cage and it was thankfully up to everything thrown at it. All my spare batteries, phone and wallet were kept in a Decathlon 10l waterproof pack in my rucksack. I was the only 'damaged goods' I got an ear and throat infection that needed antibiotics. Apart from that all great fun. Cheers

@@karlsthailand Yeah I was in Bamboo Bar on the Saturday but the next day I started in Tapu Bar and then ended up in Luxor Bar which seemed to be the craziest part of Soi 7. I had an amazing time and absolutely loved it but two days was enough for me, we went home on the Monday. I hope we can meet up at the beginning of July when I go back to Pattaya.....

I'm in BKK now, was in Pattaya last week. Got sick with the "Flu" and Monday and still sick now. My first Songkran was 2017 and 2024 was the last!

I remember 2007 Songkran and soi 7 and 8 being craziest I think. Also remember the ear and throat infection...I think it was from the water 😅😅
