One minor detail. I have a 'tourist wallet'. i.e a crappy looking canvas wallet which has about THB2000 in it. I then deposit one or 2 or 3 or 4 other 1000THB notes around in various pockets. That way, if you 'lose it' or get tempted or want to keep yourself 'low key' when you get your wallet out to pay for a drink, they don't see THB6000 sat there all juicy for the taking. This isn't mean-ness... it just just caution. As Daz says, these girls want your money for them. So you do you. The other thing is if you get too pissed to find it, it is probably time to go home anyway...it works for me. I have no need to impress strangers with the contents of my wallet, and actually I prefer to appear a little modest, and have the option to turn it on at my own discretion. It's a great place, but sometimes a little caution and discretion is better.. unless you really don't care.... My best nights were not my most expensive nights. My most expensive nights were usually my most careless nights.

Don't do what I did first time in Patts guys. Following 'advice' I bar fined a pretty girl early on and went off drinking with my mate with the plan of going back for her. Trouble is that Pattaya is a big city and having had too many beers I forgot where the bar was. Years later my mate has never tired of reminding me about it. 😁

He paid 2000 baht to get tucked into bed and I am never gonna let him forget about that. The funny thing is, the girl actually really tried to get him going and turn him on but he was too drunk. The girl was also really sweet.

I was staying at the apex Hotel on second road once. About 9pm I thought right I'll go out and look for some action. I came out of the hotel and walked over to the bars complex and sat down at a bar. A girl who I liked said where you come from and I said the apex Hotel lol. I bar fined her straight away and within minutes we were back to the apex. The girl on reception hadn't even put my key away it was still on the desk. She said that was quick.😀

The great advice is standard practice for most of us long term expats, with a few tweaks to the methodology suggested by Daz! "When you find something you like" applies to everything in Pattaya, no matter if its a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses, or a girl you really like, buy it on inspection, otherwise someone else may beat you to it! The sunglasses will remain yours until you break or lose them and perhaps the girl will be the same, but the glasses become your property, the girl does not, there will always be a re sale price demanded by the girl! The only question is then is, can you afford, or want to pay for the re sale! Ray Bans are not demanding once purchased and will remain yours until the end, make sure you can see through the rose tinted glasses!

I'd like to give a little advice, learning from a mistake which I made a few months ago. One evening I was introduced to a lovely Agogo dancer, whilst drinking in another bar after hours. We spent the evening together and the following night I went to see her at work in the Agogo. We agreed to meet outside after work. However, what I didn't know, was that she planned to meet me a few hundred yards away from her work place because if her boss / security etc saw her with me ( who was technically a 'customer' in the Agogo earlier that night )... Then the boss would charge HER the following day for the bar fine price which was 2000b. So guys, if you do agree to meet a girl from an Agogo its best NOT to wait outside the establishment as I did 🙄 and save the hassle.... I should have gone back the following day and given her the 2000 bar fine but I didn't 🤣 as I didn't want to see her again! She only charged 1500 ST too haha, but really was/is a stunner from LK Metro. Lesson learnt for me ;)

Who is still bar-fining? The stunners are online (and they are more healthy too). Less hassle to get to the one of your choice, no obligation to drink amounts of alcohol (even worse with a girl you are not interested in), not loosing your time chitchatting. Go for a beer with your mate and order online for your company. You can go dancing with her as well.

I agree, you can get the online freelancer to turn up at your hotel at an appointed time which makes it easier to plan your day around it. I gave them 1500 and they were mostly as advertised. Some I gave a tip but no bar fine or drinks apart from bottled water. There's a slight risk online with girls that don't look like their photos as opposed to going to bars and getting to meet them first. Also, I found that there was no build-up of sexual tension in my connection with the online girl. She was usually going down on me within a minute of entering my room after just having met her in the lobby. lol Conversely, at the bars, you can get a good feel for them and your chemistry before committing. Easier to 'get in the mood' with music and drinks and dancing etc at the bars. You do pay more but it can be more fun in the end.

Yeah, mostly the onliners were as good as their pics if not better in person so I agree with you on quality and choice there but I did have some real cuties on Soi 6. About a thousand girls on display and spoilt for choice really. I'd scout them out, pick the one, buy her a drink and take her upstairs soon after. Best to go without your mates and you don't lose much time. You can be in and out (so to speak) in an hour if you don't muck about. It's nice to meet girls whilst you're having fun too. I met a particularly nice freelancer at Insomnia. Unfortunately she became too drunk to take home. lol So, yeah you take your chances out and about whereas with the onliners you're more in control, the process is simplified and you're pretty much guaranteed a hot girl of your choice to turn up on demand.(maybe half an hour late) I've been to Pattaya twice in the past year for a month in total and had about 25 girls so I'm not as experienced as many About half were from online but I also tried gentlemen's clubs, Bj bars, soapy massage, Agogos and street freelancers. I went to a pool party once too which was a lot of fun. I wanted to try everything. I do have to agree with you that the online girls were the best. I'm still in touch with some on the Line app which is nice. The occasional message hoping that my money and I will soon be back in town haha Another good thing about the online girls is that you have photos of them that you can look back on and show your mates lol

I was in a bar where the bar was fine 10,000 bth. (which I found out later) I didn't see that the girls went with anyone, so I liked to go there, for beer and to play pool, to chat with the girls politely and normally. The most beautiful of them offered herself that I could go to her room after closing. How do you get out of additional nights bar fines? The girl is required to show up to the bar or she gets fired right? Plus doesnt she want the cut of the bar fine? Like for instance you want to GFE girl for a week and go travel with her somewhere?

YOU MUST pay her bar fine for every day she is with you, you arrange with the mamasan how many days you want her for and pay the bar fines for every day before you take her. That's why some guys only take freelancers for a few days as there is no bar fine.

Or you can wait until her contract is over. They're all typically on 10 day contracts, then they're off for several days. What they do in between and how long they take to return to the bar is up to them. This is your window of opportunity to take them on a GFE week. If you see one that meets your criteria to take for a week, ask her up front when her contract ends. 1/10 chance it's the next day.

It's been over 5 yrs since I paid a bf absolutely no reason so many options about. I normally av 1-3 STs a day. If they where reasonable rates I'd re-consider. If there's some chemistry I'll go and eat with them which is much better value then paying overs for a bf. Many bars days are numbered as things change. Very much like newspapers no one reads them anymore.

beach rd girls... the advice is you dont know them I mean if something goes wrong or you think the girl stole from you , you wont find that girl anymore.. However if that girl works in a bar and something happens you can always go next day to the bar and complain to the mamasan that is the basic rule with freelancers on beach road.

If you declare they will inspect. I had a wooden tambourine rejected on Arrival. They gave me the choice of paying for a 'test' to ensure no infestation or binning it. They can be very strict at Australian arrivals.. if you don't declare there are significant penalties
