Great that you posted a video of your trip in Patthalung. It is a province with natural beauty and lots of mountains in the backdrop as you drive. Unfortunately there is no clip of the Elevated Highway which is on the way to Thale Noi. It goes along the lake and it is a beautiful drive. The best time to visit is maybe an hour or so after dawn as you need some light to see and to take low light photographs/video. It will still be somewhat dark and cool so the critters and birds are still active looking for food and such. As the sun comes up, everything including the water lilies tone down because of the heat. So best time is soon after dawn and perhaps at dusk to see the sunset and birds flying. Best period is November to January as migratory birds (from as far Mongolia and China) come to nest. Hence later there are birds nests and eggs and hatchlings after to see as well.

Mountain View Guesthouse - you can find on booking or agoda, it's around 600-1000thb a night depending on the room Will keep that in mind for next time
