If someone dies, should we die [by refusing future love] ourselves out of so-called respect? @5:20-ish, Oswalt is describing how McNamara "entered the discussion". When you become interested in something, you will typically *learn* about it from others - you'll read others' accounts, look into the history, see what's being said about this subject. And then, at some point, you realize that it's time for YOU to "enter the discussion" - it's time for YOU to become one of those experts. So you'll start writing articles, even *BOOKS*, and add YOUR VOICE to the ongoing discussion. Do this.
