@@rxkingd That's not true at all? Patton Oswalt and Felicia Day are huge fans of the show. Imo, having actual MST3K fans play roles is a better idea than random people. Now, I have my opinions on their performance, but they are true fans of the shows, themselves, therefore they deserve support.

All the ones mentioned are excellent, I would also recommend "The Giant Spider Invasion", "The Incredible Melting Man", and "Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders". You won't be disappointed.

+Robert .Breedlove - No matter where you start, it's filled with references you or I won't get. The 11th season has a bunch of references to Carvel Ice Cream and Mount Airy Lodge commercials, because the head writer was a kid in New Jersey in the '80s. No matter the season, references will pass over your head.

I'm so happy they are re-booting MST3K. I'm a long time fanboy of that show back when it was first airing episodes. Im also a big fan of their show Rifftrax. The guys who have been doing that show Joel and Mike among others, are freaking geniuses. I hope Patton can add something to it.

I can't get into MST3K. It was my EVERY Sunday morning show as a kid, wake up early and sit and build Construx while I watched the show. And when I started Ep 1 on Netflix with no knowledge at all of the reboot I was ecstatic when I saw Patton, Felicia Day AND Will Wheaton - but the robot voices not being the original really hurt, you're used to "Joel" changing over the seasons but the robots were a constant, and these new guys just can't riff off the movies like the old crews.

I like how they skip over Mike Nelson as a host of the show completely. like he never existed. Joel left the show in season 5, and Mike took over from there. he was the head writer in the show and was the star in the movie version, but let's just not mention that at all.

Patton Oswalt is not at all right for the part of Stenton, though. I don't think he was supposed to be younger than Bailey, Tom Hanks' character. Patton seems like could still pull of the role somewhat I guess, but it's just one of the many arbitrary changes they're making with this book, such as white-washing the main character.

Actually it's not a misuse. There are two kinds of reboots, a hard and a soft reboot. Hard reboot often means remake or complete reimagining while soft reboot usually means a sequel set years in the future, with similar or same characters, but still a different thing in some respects. But yes, I agree, revival or sequel would be a better term!

Soft reboot typically means changing things beyond just the cast and this, like the revival of "Doctor Who", is the same show, just with (mostly) new people. With the term "reboot" being particularly toxic right now, it's best to avoid the term unless it's a hard reboot.
