Another reason for the beer stein is because it's sort of medieval styled. Mother Gothel is described as being a bit of a fashionista, but out of date. Her dress in the movie is sleek and elegant, but from a time period centuries before the events of Tangled.

I love the choices defining that there are three different characters here. Gothel isn't royalty she's just a woman so she allows herself to be dramatic. You seem to be confused dear confusing tough love for child abuse. You see Bill Milliken described tough love through the expression. "I don't care how this makes you feel towards me. You may hate my guts, But I love you, And I am doing this because I love you." Milliken strongly emphasizes that a relationship of care in love is a prerequisite of tough love. And that it requires that loved ones communicate clearly. Even when he or she consider themselves unworthy of love and find it difficult to believe that others love them. In most uses there must be some actual love or feeling of affected behind the Stern or harsh treatment. to be defined as tough love ... For example : doing a chore that is either given or asked of him or her and getting him or her to do that chore. He or she won't receive any form of reward ... Tim Hawkins has described tough love as putting "principles before popularity." And allow loved ones to learn through failure. Plus the failure of not complying ... Tough love is the act of treating a person Sterling or harshly with the intent to help him or her in the long run.

I love the way each villain communicates their stories. Tremaine sings with her daughters, in a trio, showing her using them while also working with them. Evil Queen sings while using the mannerisms of a simple conversation, showing how refined she is. Lyrics: Lady Tremaine: Ever since I was a girl My own mother vowed I must find a way to power through a noble brow I married once for love Then my senses came I must marry for the stature of my husband's name Onto marriage number two I knew what I had to do My poor husband fell ill in a year or two Solved problem number one Now to problem number two His doe-eyed little girl with a gentle point of view Would I ship her off to school? No! I told her if she stayed that she'd have to earn her keep And so she became the maid Step-Sisters: 1 - She was lazy 2 - She was crazy 1 - She was talking to the mice Tremaine: She was hopelessly naive So she had to pay the price I moved her to the attic out of sight and out of mind I could have thrown her out, but I'm Benevolent and kind Step-Sisters: Mother, your heart's too big for you Tremaine: I knew what I had to do After all, difficult children will take advantage of your good nature So you lock them up Throw away the key There's one on every family tree Step-Sisters: 1 - Ungrateful 2 - Hateful Both - Vile too The things she put you through Tremaine: Break their spirit so they obey Now they'll do anything you say Maybe you'd call it cruel but others would call it love Tough love I ask you, is it a crime to strive for perfection in all things? Mother Gothel: Oh no, they're so cute when they're little but Then they grow up and just Ruin everything I never wanted children Life was better on my own All the screaming, nagging Chilled me to the bone But then one day I came across a flower growing free It's magic kept me young So I kept it all for me But someone dug it up Now a baby held the power So I "borrowed" her Locked her up And hid her in a tower Years went by Oh! The sacrifice And against my better judgment I fed her once or twice Teenagers now I know I wild eat their young But that's messy Manipulation's easily more fun A little guilt A lot of force Of course you have to lie Remind them that without you They'd shrivel up and die They only have themselves to blame If you'd been there, you'd do the same So work them hard 'til they fall in line There's one way and it's only mine Evil Queen: Children are lazy Tremaine: Spoiled too All: But we know what to do Evil Queen: Govern them with a heart of stone Tremaine: Lock them up, so they're all alone Gothel: Maybe you'd call it cruel but All: Others would call it love Tough love Gothel: Oh, her own tower with a water view And she runs away the first chance she gets Evil Queen: These wretched brats think the world owes them something, but it doesn't Far and wide I rule the kingdom with a heavy hand But there was more I had in mind A greater plan I never cared to share So the king would have to fall But his child blocked the way to me and "Fairest of them all" She was chubby, she was dumb And grotesquely optimistic She needed structure in her life She wasn't realistic I gave her chores And took away the things that she'd enjoy But then I caught her singing songs With birds and then a boy Love? Was I to just sit by and wait For her to take my crown? No! She had sealed her fate She had to go And so she did And you know what they say "An apple once a day keeps your enemies away" Don't be fooled by their tender smile Tremaine: Give an inch All: and they'll run a mile Our idea of a happy home Is one where we live all alone Gothel: Dark Tremaine: Depressing Evil Queen Desolate All: Now let's all drink to that Step-Sisters: Call us wicked and call us mean Tremaine: Cruel and everything in between Gothel: You could say it's unjust Evil Queen: Turning their dreams to dust All: This is what we call love Tough love I have way too much time on my hands.

They all did such an amazing job but my favorite would have to be the actress who played Lady Tremaine. Like her expressions match so well with the lyrics and how she is singing, especially her expression change at 1:13 and her voice is my favorite kind of singing voice!

All the actresses here are just so, SO good at reflecting the characters' warped point of view through their expressions & body language and vocal dynamics!! They somehow manage parody without 'over-egging' things, and the clever camera blocking & lighting adds a lot of extra dynamism too. Brava!!

Lady Tremaine, the Evil Queen, and Gothel all have amazing voices, but I can't be the only one who utterly loves the wicked stepsisters' parts, right? They hit that perfect balance of sounding shrill, without actually BEING shrill, and I am so here for it. Would love to see more of them.

It's one of the theatrical movement techniques but i forgot the name. Basiccally when you move to your final action it's really fast but you slow it down with a rhythm so it's really rhythmic and smmoth

The actors are so amazing, you could totally tell the personalities of the characters they’re playing just by the look in their eyes. Lady Tremaine looks wrathful like she bubbling up inside with anger and vengeance, Gothel looks desperate and simpering, and the Queen looks apathetic and cold. I’ve watched this video so many times I’m so in love with everything about it

I don't know if it's intentional or not, but Anastasia is always a beat late when criticizing people, as if she's waiting for her sister's cue if it's something they should do. I think it's a nice detail since she's the one who got a redemption arc.
