Don't get me wrong, i still think Jafar is amongst the top five most powerful Disney entities but he's not as powerful as someone who is considered the Mistress of all evil.

This has to be the best live-action portrayal of the Disney Villains I've seen. The casting and costumes are ON POINT, and the little nuances of the characters' personalities really show how much work was put into making them as faithful to the originals as possible. Small details like the Queen never cracking a smile, Lady Tremaine briefly losing her composure before pulling herself together, Maleficent's reference to her love of instilling fear in others...I could go on and on. I also love the small references to these villains' musical leitmotifs in the instrumentals. I couldn't help but smile hearing the eerie three notes surrounding Maleficent's verse, the harmonic minor of Jafar's Hour, even the "bum-bum-bum" of Facilier's friends on the other side. Brilliantly written song, excellently acted villains, this was made to make fans like me squeal for joy.

Lady Maleficent was not a sorceress but a fae of darkness. Faes or other creatures of magic are naturally talented in the workings of magic which makes them much more sensitive and gifted towards the arts. Ja'far, on the other hand, asked with his second wish to be the most powerful sorcerer in the world which is a very human occupation. He was only more powerful after his third wish as he had the power to alter all reality as what was natural for genies in the Disney universe.

Well, i guess the issue with this debate is a lack of information. Disney didn't exactly take time to flesh out the rules of magic in any of their worlds specifically. Like the idea of becoming more powerful a magi as a sorceror than a fae isn't a stretch, especially since there isn't a law of magic dictating that fae cannot be sorcerors either. Like maleficent, is she considered just a fae or a sorceress fae for example. What does it mean to be a sorceror in this scenario anyway? A practitioner of magic? The only clear-cut part of this is when Jafar becomes a genie, cuz they supposedly have "limitless cosmic power" and all that, so i guess that makes a genie's abilities more powerful than any magical creature.

Jafar's problem wasn't Aladdin finding the lamp. He actually needed Aladdin to fetch the lamp since Aladdin was the "diamond in the rough" that could enter the Cave of Wonders. No Jafar's problem happened when he tried to give Aladdin his "eternal reward" and Abu stole the lamp from Jafar's robe.

First, for some reason, he couldn't or wouldn't go head to head with Hercules. If he was that powerful, why send all of those less powerful creatures to fight Herc, especially when he was still early in his training? And forget Zeus. After Herc saved Meg's soul, Hades didn't even try to engage him and actually took a punch to the face. Sure, he's a god, but it seemed like the family on Olympus only had that title with regards to their area of expertise. Hell, even Zeus, the most powerful god of them all, was subdued by Hades temporarily. Hades is a god, but only when pertaining to death and the underworld. I compare it to superheroes. Flash is the fastest being in the DC universe, but is he going to win in a fist fight against Doomsday. Not likely.

Everything here is just perfect and amazing, but I just appreciate most that they really nail the character they are acting. Spot on! My eyes can't leave Maleficent's, with how slow and deliberate she would move, graceful but deadly. The lithe and elegant hands would move, her side eye, the head tilt and all that. I will like to add, the setting, costume, special effects were on point. I also would like to add that these spectral voice of these unseen singers when the Doctor started singing was awesomely creepy. The instruments and musical sound starting 1:06 that was like a "percussion" gave me cool goosebumps. It was powerful. I suck with name musical instrument. Whomever came with the notes and the mix of sound is a pure genius. It further enhance the performance of the singers. I cant stop listening.
