@@bobbybower9405 Because you can't scientifically prove a god does not exist. Part of the basis of science is that it should be something measurable and repeatable, and _"a god"_ does not fit that. But you do not need evidence to prove something is false if there is no evidence to prove it is true. I could make up some kind of god right now and you can't prove it does not exist, but I cannot prove it exist either so there is no reason to believe it does exist. Does that make sense? Saying there IS a God actually adds more complexity that saying there isn't. Because saying there is instantly begs the questions, "What made him?", "Does he have a father and mother?", "Is the supposed dimension where he's from similar to ours if he feels emotions like anger and jealousy and has a son just like Earth's fathers?", "Where did he get all his powers from?", "Why is he a "He" and not a "She" or even an 'It'?" All valid questions to which we don't know the answer, so why would we lie to ourselves that we know there is a God?
@potaterjim5 жыл бұрын
I'd be more interested in what exactly God in this case is made out of. Christianity is pretty adamant that he's ethereal and isn't a literal bearded dude just sitting in the clouds, he's an omnipresent force, but at the same time he also communicates to humans: How? He needs a consciousness, and we only have one model for those currently: the brain, and we only barely understand how _that_ works. So where are the neurons and synaptics that allows him to formulate a thought? For that matter, he causes effects in the earth to communicate to humans and cause "miracles" (like killing gay people) How? Where's the connection? What connects him to a bush so that he can light it on fire, or to rain clouds so he can flood the world? Is he inside everything, like the force? Where? What atoms are the "god" atoms, vs the rock atoms? Is he subatomic? Or a substance that doesn't exist in this dimension? That's already exciting, think of all we could learn if we could discover it Also, where was he for the grand majority of life on the planet? Or for Asian people? He kinda showed up late to that party
@potaterjim5 жыл бұрын
@Füćč Ñï99å Except, what's the guarantee you'll learn anything when you die? Firstly, there's every possibility that when you die, nothing happens, your brain just shuts off and you are no longer conscious. And if that isn't what happens, and humans have some kind of persistent "soul" that transcends death, there's STILL the possibility that when you die, you leave your brain behind, and since your brain has all your memories and emotions, your identity is effectively washed away and the you that exists post-death is totally alien and unrecognizable from your original self. We'll ignore those for the sake of debate, and state the following: When you die, you move on to a new place with all your memories and consciousness in tact, which are operated by extra-scientific principles instead of chemical/electrical signals in the brain. Who's to say you suddenly get an insight into how things actually work? What if the after life is just a new place, filled with people? Does someone come down and say "Alright, you're dead, here's some required reading on how things work"? Since god, as he exists in the bible, is basically a supernatural entity that defies the laws of physics, or even just basic causality, who's to say a human mind can even perceive him?

@elijahkhaira2 жыл бұрын
@EpicCoder Skits and Reactions because supposedly god lived above the clouds, the world was the only thing that was out there, that no other life existed off of earth etc… And what happens if the aliens explained or showed what actually happened? As what would a religious person do then? As it does kinda make sense as there’s a reason why the supposed “truths” of religion, that people saw as facts back in the day, keep getting edited/changed all the time, but at the end of the day humans were meant to be his pride creation, and that’s exactly why soo many religions don’t believe in them (not necessarily all/everyone, but certainly a majority of them) as it goes against the main principles of what they believe in
