That was fun. I could see where a Surly ECR would be a fun ride but a serious test bed for your components.

I’m a Surly fanboy (have a 2014 Pugs and a 2020 ICT). I have a NOS set of Rabbit Hole wheels with 3” Knards so have my eye on doing an ECR build.

Are you guys hiring? Lol, been loving your products for years now. A few years ago I would ride in SF everyday(for work)on my vintage downhill Haro and when I could finally afford a Paul Industry component(front hub)I was soon after struck by a car and my amazing bike was done. Overall the bike took it like a champ but the frame took most of the impact(visibly no damage but)and it was rendered as done. I finally just now replaced my beloved Haro(which I rode the entire Bay Area with)with a Surly Straggler and I’m in love! It’s got the Salsa dropped bell bars on it. It’s weird because I have been riding with flat bars for over 25 years so going back to drop bars makes me feel 15 again(I started riding bikes before flats were a thing). But drops don’t clear like flat bars and you can pizza knee on them. You can also pinch your hand when lifting your bike, shifting and braking is so different to me now so I’m relearning things. I love that you just let your bike be which is what I did with my old bike to some degree. But times have changed and I learned that I’ve been guilty of cross chaining, boy my Haro took a beating. So my new bike is a single chainring on the front. Jumping too is weird with drops but I’m mostly city riding these days and curbs aren’t really too difficult to hop off of. Anyhow I’m glad to see Paul Industries on YT as I’m not on IG anymore and that’s where I first learned about the company and culture. Love that there is a beer bottle in the video too, think I’ll have one now:) Cheers and thanks for the inspiration and dedication that you guys share.

How are you liking the 2.5 extra terrestrial mounted to the dually?

Nice ride. Are there any problems, because of the low BB and the 'smaller' tyres? Greetings.

Have you had any issues with pedal strikes or BB clearance running those 2.5 extraterrestrials? I’m loving my ECR but the 3.0 wtb rangers I run are only okish on pavement (which I’m finding I’m riding lot of locally) the Surly ET seems like it would be a much more pavement friendly tire.
