I remember that Raw. Paul handled that brilliantly. That crowd hijacked the show anyway later, but Paul was the only one who could control that crowd. He gave a moving tribute to Punk’s career, sung his praises, and once he knew he had them hooked…he switched to full heel and drew MEGA heat for him and the Brock-Taker match. His brilliance creatively was on full display.

The crowd in 2014 chicago March 3rd was my MOST FAV thing in WWE, i remember hearing Punks music, pausing the video as i download the show and watch it next day as i cba staying awake at 1 to watch raw in the UK I paused the show when his music hit, ran to the store in so much excitement to get some soda to drink while he was going to be there, and BAH GAWD guy didnt show up, i watched the entire show hoping he would show up and he didnt The energy Paul Heyman diverted from the crowd was unbelievable, he didnt really stop them though, they kept chanting his name BUT WWE got past it and the show went on!

@BEOMIEPRINCESS6 ай бұрын
Being passionate about something that inspired you and wanting to speak up on a corrupt companies bullshit does not make you an idiot. WWE (at the time) deserved ALL the shit they were getting from fans and they deserved to get called out for what they did. The way WWE and especially Vince treated Punk back then was absolutely f'ing absurd and they deserved to get called on it. Fighting for a change and being passionate about something you love doesn't make you an idiot. Hating on people fighting for a change and being passionate about something they love makes YOU the idiot quite frankly.
@EWH8156 ай бұрын
@KOOLICIOUSFACECARD I didn't say they were idiots for that. They were right to be angry at the BS. They were idiots because they forgot what they came to do and WWE still ended up working them and manipulating them back into the storyline. Heyman was just too good

I'm not trying to sound cool (it's not like I'm going to ever meet anyone reading this) when I say this. I grew up in Aberdeen, Wa and met Bryan Danielson in 7th grade. It wasn't until we worked at McDonald's together when we were both 16 that we discovered our mutual love of Wrestling. I wanna make it clear, we were good acuantinces, I was a skateboarder and massive stoner and I loved meat, we didn't have much in common other than Wrestling. We would trade tapes and one day he brought me my first ECW tape and I have been drinking the Kool aid ever since. This isn't about Bryan, it's about Paul. He's been called a lot of things, in my opinion the one most fitting is genius. Who would have thought to do that to kill the Punk chants in Chicago of all places and been successful. Paul E. that's who and that's he's the Einstein of Wrestling!
@Jeff_Pryce2 жыл бұрын
4:28 Of course that’s what Vince’s stupid goons wanted. 😆 Heyman was right, what good would saying that do? It would have only fired up the already rabid crowd even more and then they’d have literally chanted Punk’s name for 3 hours. They were coming in angry and furious and hot. You can’t fight an angry crowd with more anger. You just can’t win that fight. That wasn’t a smart strategy, it would have been stupid. You have to come in with a different mindset to outsmart the crowd. Paul read that room and tricked them, used their emotions to his own advantage.
