William I am enjoying this series of of fluting videos .Why do you make your parting tool cut before you cut your flutes ? I always do it in the reverse order . It is much easier to vary the depth of your parting tool cut to compensate for any slight variations in thickness of the wood and it is easy to see when breakthrough is about to happen . Ted
