If you had to put your house on picking a future world champion who had not previously won it , 99% of knowledgeable snooker fans would have picked Paul hunter. Still brings a tear to my eye every time I see a video of him. I really miss him. ( August 2020)

I was just talking to my mate about snooker the other day. He was talking about ronnies comments on players theses days not being as good. I was saying it might be another 50 years before you get a bunch of players as good as the last generation. He started mentioning the names Hendry, Ronnie ,Williams, Doherty , Higgins, Hunter. It just made me smile really that we got leashes to watch and remember!!

If there was ANY person that would have given Ronnie a true run for his money? THIS fella was him. He had the same mentality,the same attitude, the same commitment and the same tenacity as Ronnie and snooker fans all over the world have been denied some seriously Great snooker play of what might have been. RIP young man.

Well he beat Ronnie 🤣
@1wannabee12 жыл бұрын
@@Ownz1982 Ronnie o Sullivan has proved he's top notch NOT over 1,single snooker match but consistantly time and time again over many years. THAT is what makes Ronnie stand out from the rest. Paul Hunter (imo) could have achieved the same success if he'd haved lived. (comprehendy?) Pfft

I did now that you died Paul Hunter,. I saw Ronny and your match tonight while watching old snooker videos of the 2000s. While searching for your recent videos, I learned that we lost a legend in 2005 at the age of 27. I'm so sorry young man, so sorry. Wherever you are, sleep well, champion.

Considering he won the masters three times and never got his hands never got to lift the silver lady, Paul Hunter is perhaps up there along side Jimmy White as the greatest player never to win the world championship. This video breaks my heart and yet in way, warms it at the same time. He clearly loved his wife very much and he loved the game of snooker as well. RIP Paul ain't life a bitch?!
@markt201410 ай бұрын
I’d say Jimmy best to have never won it, then a toss up between Hunter and Ding as next in line. For talent it’s Hunter but for ranking win’s it’s Ding. Call it joint second.

I watched probably every single match or most of his matches on tv. I thought he was an exceptional talent even next to Ronnie. Without a doubt he would’ve been a multiple world champion many would agree. So sad that this nasty disease took him from his family and the game. His memory lives on with people like myself. He will never be forgotten. A true gentleman of the game a top lad and great player

My dad and me bumped in to Paul and his cousin in a kebab shop in Cardiff back in 2002, when he was competing in a pool tournament. He stood talking to us for about 20 minutes, and posed with others for photographs, the whole time enjoying himself and laughing and joking. He was a real gent, and had no hint of arrogance whatsoever. When he died my dad and me were genuinely saddened and upset. He was a lovely guy and a great snooker player. Sleep well, Paul.

63 dislikes ... for what ? .... who knows what goes through people’s heads these days, as unfortunately society is broken by so many things. But what I can say to endorse the 1.7k likes, is that Paul Hunter was 28 years of age when he sadly passed away. He used the gift he was given to entertain many millions on the TV. A 28 year old man, just over the 1/3 of his life’s expectancy’s, meaning he still had 2/3 yet to live. So any mistakes or hiccups he had along the way in his young life should be ignored and the greater good he did should be the defining matter. From those that really knew him said, he was fairly good guy. Shouldn’t that be enough! Be at peace young man, and may your daughter live a long prosperous life!

@@gibby7233 I don't really think we need comments like this on a tribute video... But, fyi he said that in 2002 and lost narrowly. I think the 17-4 and 17-6 pummelings he gave Hendry a couple of years later certainly qualify. As well as holding the triple crown record, 147 record, century record, matches won record, matched won against Hendry 23-11 with a few draws is more than enough. Have some respect and some damn sense!
