Paul McCartney - Band On The Run
Live Glastonbury Music Festival 2004
The Band:
Paul McCartney -Bass/Guitars/Piano/Vocals
Brian Ray - Guitars/Bass/Vocals
Rusty Anderson - Guitars/Vocals
Abe Laboriel Jr. - Drums/Vocals
Wix Wickens - Keyboards/Vocals
Lyrics:
Stuck inside these four walls
Sent inside forever
Never seeing no one nice again like you
Mama you, mama you
If I ever get out of here
Thought of giving it all away
To a registered charity
All I need is a pint a day
If I ever get out of here
If we ever get out of here
Well the rain exploded with a mighty crash
As we fell into the sun
And the first one said to the second one there
I hope youre having fun
Band on the run
Band on the run
And the jailer man and sailor sam
Were searching every one
For the band on the run
Band on the run
For the band on the run
Band on the run
Well the undertaker drew a heavy sigh
Seeing no one else had come
And a bell was ringing in the village square
For the rabbits on the run
Band on the run
Band on the run
And the jailer man and sailor sam
Was searching every one
For the band on the run
Band on the run
Yea the band on the run
Band on the run
Band on the run
Band on the run
Well the night was falling as the desert world
Began to settle down
In the town theyre searching for us every where
Cause we never will be found
Band on the run
Band on the run
And the county judge who held a grudge
Will search for evermore
For the band on the run
Band on the run
Band on the run
Band on the run

I've always been jealous of people that so obviously good at something. Paul never has to wonder about what he was supposed to be. He is a musician. He was meant to be a musician. This planet NEEDED him to be a musician. He has his place in the books now as one of the most important musicians in history. He did what he was supposed to do. No one can convince me this dude was meant to be... a plumber, or a lawyer. Still going too... still writing good songs, still performing great live. If he ever retires, I am going to be PISSED (not likely, I think he loves music too much)

I was on a work project bus once to pay a traffic fine. We had a (hot) female sheriff deputy driving. For some reason we started singing "I Fought the Law". Then some joker drove by and the passenger hung his bare ass out his window. We said "Shoot him now, they won't find the bullet hole" .A splendid time was had by all.

My favorite song hands down. It's a masterpiece period. It has so many changes that build up to a climax. No other Beatle could have made a song like this. This is Paul McCartney at his best. He is great at Turning a song into an anthem. Paul seems to create very nice sounding songs with alot of different instruments that create sounds that are so pleasurable to the ear. It's Actually very complicated to string together songs like this so magically like Macca. They end up sounding perfect. Like how he strung together the Abbey road medley and other songs like Live and Let die, A Day in the life, Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey, etc. Watching the Get Back movie made me really see how his mind is always looking for complicated things or a different way of trying a song to sound better. He always adds something extra to the songs that he's part of. In the get back movie, you can see his influence and ideas. He seemed to not want to do the basic simple song all the time. Just a really gifted musician with a great ear for what would sound great...and that was 50 years ago. He has so much knowledge from over 65years of living with music and constantly playing. Nobody in the Beatles had the drive like McCartney. That's why he's still creating and learning new stuff today.

Stuck inside these 4 walls already for over 2 years...and you're saying "stay safe" and probably stay home as well?? Sorry, but some things absolutely have to be addressed eventually, including stupid annoying catch-phrases...(and btw, hope you all are "staying safe" and dying of boredom in the process, because if you are willing to tolerate it then YOU deserve it, period.)

I loved Wings. And the Beatles. And, well virtually everything Paul did. lol Wings brought so much fun and life and melody--and always so many cool musical things happening in his songs, all played by great musicians--and Band on the Run is such a perfect example--like a mini rock opera. Just amazing, timeless fun.

I can remember the first time I heard this back in the 1970’s. I bought the album and played it to death eventually buying a special master edition that cost a weeks wage but was worth it. A true musical genius at work.

I was lucky enough to see Paul in concert as a teenager with my brother parents aunt and uncle and I can remember they played this song and I just looked at my mom and freaked out that it was my fave song ...mind you he played all my fave songs lol but this one is at the top... He is such a great performer and I'll never forget that show my aunt stayed in the same position the whole show and the best part is that in all my time of seeing concerts even till now many shows after seeing Paul I've never been to a chow where the singer said that it was just about time to pack up for the next stop on there tour and the crowd all at the same time was so heart broken that we all said awwwwwww it was such a moment to have a stadium filled front to back do this at the same time Paul was even amazed and said in his whole career since the start with the beetles till that moment he's never had that happen at any show .. it was amazing and I'll never forget the feeling I had seeing him in concert he is definitely the top 1 (apart from acdc) that I've seen in concert and I hope too see him again
