This has to be a very emotional tour for him. He knows the days of performing are almost over, he's reflecting on his incredible life's work. If this doesn't move you, you're already dead. Hats off to you James Paul McCartney, you done good.

It certainly a ‘farewell tour’ feeling about it doesn’t it? I was thinking ahwile ago that isn’t anyone alive that has been part of my world experience longer than Paul and Ringo. There is home movies of me dancing in my crib to Twist and Shout and I wanna hold Your Hand. Like most people my age, this music has truly been the soundtrack of my life.

I’m going tonight (6/12) in Baltimore. This will be my 4th time seeing Paul, and I agree, likely the last. I’m not going to wear my contacts tonight, because I already know the tears will come. This band has been part of me for 45 years. And this song and the “I’ve Got A Feeling” duet with 1969 John are hitting me hard.

He isn't the Beatles. He's one of four. In some ways it's also a bit of a cheek as Lennon and McCartney squeezed George Harrison out and probably wouldn't have had this song on the album in his younger days. It was probably only because George stood his ground that it was on the album in the first place. It's a classic, but Harrison's feud with John and Paul (particularly Paul) was beginning to grow at this stage.

Pinball Junky- What a story (TWO, actually!)! I had to add this- I recently saw the Eagles in Chicago. Accompanying them was a 77pc orchestra AND… The Chicago Children’s Choir. WOW indeed. I’ve been a musician for roughly as long as they have. So naturally, I was kind of disappointed when it appeared (‘sounded’) like they were using that dreaded Auto Tune. But after a few songs, I realized that it wasn’t Auto Tune at all. They were just that damned good. Spot on. Note for note. The whole Hotel album plus Eagle hits, and solo stuff from Henley, Walsh and even James Gang! So, out of nowhere, this kid sitting next to me says “This is my first show.” Amazed, I said “You said What???” And he said “This is the first concert that I’ve ever been to.” Shell shocked in disbelief, I asked “How old are you?” “16. He replied.” Okay. Now I’m even more stunned. At that age, I had already seen Cream, the Four Seasons and Sabbath! (Hey. I’m old!). After a few songs, I elbowed him and said “So whattya think???” The kid says “Pretty impressive!” I finally catch on to the fact that the guy sitting next to him is his father. I indignantly asked him “So what’s YOUR problem? WHY is this his first show?” But all I got was a shrug. The only way that this could’ve been more perfect, was if it was a Paul show. But, as the kid said, it truly was- “Pretty impressive.”

As a 13 year old back in 1964, the Beatles touched me in a way that changed me forever. They're the thread running through my life, telling me to listen, to feel, and be open to the magic of living. Will, I saw them in 1964 when I was 10 years old. My family couldn't afford anything like that, but somehow my aunt got tickets for me, my cousin, and our chaperone older sisters. I'll never forget my mother came into the backyard where I was playing with my friend and she said, "If you could go anywhere you wanted, where would you go?" I said, "A baseball game?" (Sidenote: I went on to be a 3 sport athlete in college, taught Physical Education, coached, Asst. Principal PE, Athletic Director- so you can understand how important that baseball game was! BTW I'm a woman) My mom said, "No, but what about a Beatles concert?" I couldn't believe it!!! It was the event of a lifetime!! I still have the program and my Beatles cards, about 250 of them. I've loved them my whole life. Like you, their music has seen me through life's journey. My heart broke when John and George died. To have Paul and Ringo still performing is unbelievable. So many around the world have been touched by their music since I went to that concert almost 58 years ago. That is staggering! To use John's words, "Imagine all the people" who have, like you and me, made it through with the help of their words and music. What a profound impact on the world those 4 young men from working class Liverpool have made.

There is a great story in the Smithsonian magazine about George visiting his aunt in the states a few months before the Beatles officially came to the United States. His aunt introduced him to some other boys that were in a band and George got to sit in with them. They asked George about his band and George replied “we’re starting to get pretty big.” Imagine three months later the same guys are watching Ed Sullivan and there stands George! George made sure that his aunt was at the Ed Sullivan taping (all according to Smithsonian magazine).

Paul’s voice is not, of course, what it used to be, but who really cares? The people lucky enough to attend one of his concerts are here for the showmanship, the legacy, an opportunity to celebrate a musical legend. George is my favorite and I know they had their differences but he and Paul did reconcile and I’m happy about that. All “families” have their hard times but the best ones get through them, humble themselves and make amends. I believe that’s what George and Paul did. Anyway, I wish I could have been at one of these concerts and I’m so happy that Paul is still doing what he loves best.

In terms of songwriting talent, the Beatles were blessed beyond all reason. Some bands -- CCR, The Who, and others come to mind -- have a single writer who can create the hits that make them great. The Beatles were simply in a class by themselves. They had one first tier songwriter, and two almost godlike ones. George Harrison, who wrote this song, was the _second rank_ songwriter in that band. McCartney and Lennon were just on fire in the 1960s. Nobody else compares in the ability to turn out great songs _in quantity._ They wrote more hits than anyone else. George Harrison would have been _the_ hit maker in _any_ other band. In the Beatles, he was in the second level. Think about the amount of sheer talent that was packed into that one group. This is why they are so much more influential than any other group in the rock and roll genre. And this song... It just shows, that if Harrison couldn't equal the sheer number of hits that Lennon and McCartney could churn out, then it can't be denied that his very best work was fully the equal of their best. "Something" is one of the all time greatest love songs ever written, and entirely fit to stand beside the best that John or Paul ever wrote. I'm sure Paul recognizes this, and it's why he's glad to perform this song in tribute to his friend and bandmate.

I would go back without a thought in a nano second. The Beatles were an absolute mood altering experience with no drug involved. Never felt that way before The Beatles or after they broke apart. Actually things seemed to change rather quickly after Brian Epstein died. “The Touring Years”. If you have not seen Ron Howard’s film “The Touring Years” - do yourself a favor and buy that DVD or watch it however you can. It’s like re-living that time all over again. It’s the best film on The Beatles that I’ve seen and YES -- it is like having that mood altering experience all over again. Just relax, dim the lights, and pre-tend that you are 12 yrs old and you are there.

USA here... Music is one instrument that will always bind all people on earth crop politicians greedy businessmen evil world leaders will never get it and we will never comprehend their divisive ways and their motive is to always put people against people for their power and Gain. As a fellow musician myself Love The Beatles from an early age I'm 49 years old now but at the age of 12 years old hearing the classics of The Beatles early '60s and progressing forward it was evident that their music would touch the lives of many many people in the world. When you are musician and music is in your heart... race, gender and ethnicity have no more meaning. All that matters is making music together and finding the deeper connection of life through music together. The evil that exists out there will never comprehend this god-given gift that we have our Lord and savior put music in our hearts and as being created in His image we also have love for that. Your words inspired me to write back to you today as another fellow musician across the globe and also state that we hate what is going on between Russia and Ukraine watching NATO stand by and the USA giving lip service and money. The 20 million plus refugees that have left Ukraine I pray for their lives and the lives of their families I pray we can restore peace and order and balance in this Earth but war will always be, poverty will always be because in the hearts of man is greedy filled with envy and lost for power always full of sin. But the simplicity and messages of music are just that it's very simple to see that we have much more in common as a human race than dividing us up by the color of our skin and our financial value music is colorless and a binding Force beyond all measure. Now for you ...keep at your music. You have a long life ahead of you... bring back good quality music. bring back musicianship and aspiring songs and words. I wish you all the luck doing this.

I watched this on a transatlantic flight recently and watched it again on the return flight. So moving. I thought I had heard all of his great stories ten times, but there was more to be told. It has been more than 20 years since George left us and more than 40 since John was gone. Time marches on, Paul and Ringo are still vital beings and their positive influence is a light unto this world. The greatest band that will ever be, there should be no argument.

@@Better_Call_Raul Looks like the average face value of the tickets is about $225. But these are swept up by third parties who resell them, sometimes at astronomical costs.
