He lost his mother. He lost his partner. He lost the Beatles. And he lost his wife. But still going on gloriously up to this day. How great is that? I LOVE you Paul and always will.

Through all his losses, he has exhibited a strength unmeasured. By literally no one else!! I love you endlessly, my Dear Paul!! ❤❤❤😘😘😘

@@jerrileeplaylistjerome5245 Roy Orbison lost his wife in a car crash and his children in a fire. Paul is not the only person to exhibit great strength in the face of loss. In fact, it cheapens such resolve and strength to suggest that he is.

That was brilliant. He was in a good mood. But you can tell he's been through the mill recently in this, but he's getting through and putting the old "my brave face" on. He was very honest.

Excellent interview performance from Macca and also a reminder of what a tremendous presenter Johnny Vaughan was. As mentioned in the interview, The Big Breakfast (when it was hosted by Johnny and Lisa) was the only breakfast tv show worth watching. Great fun.

Men in Sheds is a UK mental health initiative for blokes. This interview supports the fact that men tend to talk more in sheds than in conventional therapy settings!

Just stumbled across this. What a great interview! They are both firing on all cylinders. Despite being in schtick mode it contains some good information and some fun quotables.

Loads of great info in this interview! Must have been tough speaking about Linda so soon after she died. I’m sure this topic would have been cleared with him pre-interview though

Great interview. Maybe one of the only ones where the interviewer treats Paul like he's (almost) just another guy, he's not intimidated or in awe of him. This, it seems to me, brings out the "regular guy" side of Paul. I think he enjoyed the quick witty back and forth, and he's VERY good at it. Someone in the comments here said you can tell he's been "through the mill" recently and I agree with that. His spirit seems a little weak, God love him. He and Linda were a real pair.

This is just after Linda died and he was still putting on the Beatle Paul act. Because it's an act, it's always been an act. Both he and Lennon (and George and Ringo too), had a more serious side to them and just played The Beatles that we all know and love.

The timing noted is wrong. This interview is from late 1999, a good 18 months after the death of his wife.

Johnny may come across as disrespectful, but I think Paul quite liked his cockiness as he's used to people fawning over him and must be refreshing to be talked to like a lad. Apparently he asked Johnny for advice on his marriage years later!
