One of the many things I admire about Paul McCartney, is his undying passion for music from any age. He has always enjoyed sharing music with young musicians, and holding his own as he plays with them. He wrote a great heavy rock song with the surviving members of Nirvana, after they performed together for Barack Obama. It was awesome! He is as enthusiastic now, as he’s ever been, and I don’t think that will ever change.

What I like most about this video is Paul's take on the n-word situation. Like he said, Oprah has always been against it and she even urges black people not to say it, but Paul retorted by saying how context is key and generations nowadays generally don't use it as a slur. Culture and language are so fluid, they change constantly.
@orangeman32202 жыл бұрын
Loved that take, it really puts it into perspective
@adventuresinmoodcitypod20002 жыл бұрын
Yes, but Paul wasn't saying it. Its still a word that black people should decide whether they use it or not. Still alot of weight & pain behind that word. Its the most controversial word in the English lexicon.
@JM16752 жыл бұрын
@@adventuresinmoodcitypod2000 I can get behind that. Racism is still very much alive and no matter how much we want to take the stinger out of a word, language is a more powerful tool than most people realise. I guess that is also why there are two variants of the word. One that is used by actual bigots and the other one mostly in hip hop and on the streets.

Anyone know the chords hes playing? Its a beautiful melody
@kambam953 жыл бұрын
I don't know the names of the chords, but looking at his two fingers, it sounds like [5th fret 3rd & 4th string], [2nd fret 3rd & 5th string], and [1st fret 3rd & 2nd fret 5th string]. Hope that helps 8^)

This reminds me of a story that my grandpa Harold told me about a cherished good luck charm that he kept with him for the duration of his life, after world war II. While he was in the war, he had a nervous habit of picking up souvenirs and small keepsakes that he found in the ruins of whatever city they happen to be passing through. Most of these keepsakes were tossed back onto the ground before he got home, to be forgotten and lost to history, but one was kept in his pocket all day, everyday for the remainder of his time. At the end of each day, he would take the keepsake out of his pocket and put it on his nightstand, grateful that he was alive to live for the entire day. He grew up quite poor and never had very much money, but as long as he had this in his pocket, he felt fortunate and grateful to be alive. I asked him if he gave the keepsake a name or if it grew on him like a personality. What did he call it? All-day nickel

I love the Kanye song, I LOVE this bit that Paul wrote, but I hate how he simply stapled Paul’s part on the end

The acoustics in that room are surprisingly good. Listen to how beautiful that whistle sounds with the natural reverb.

@@whyme4768 There is one!!! Look up When the Wind is Blowing! He originally recorded a track with this melody back in 1971 during the sessions for Ram and it remained unreleased for 47 years until he finally officially released it as a bonus track in 2018!

the song All Day is truly special! one of the greatest painters of all time inspired one of the greatest musicians of all time while he is waiting in the hospital, using picasso's chord paul mccartney whistles a beautiful melody, sends it to one of the greatest rappers/producers of all time who flips it into this very hard hitting beat, playing it at the BRITS with skeptas crew on stage paving the way for acceptence of hiphop in the UK. damn, thats why art is so powerfull. it creates these domino effects.
