1. If you're genuinely hungry, go and eat. Don't starve yourself 2. Eat what you want, not what you think you should eat (this is applying to all unhealthy/indulgent options). 3. Be mindful with your eating. Chew each bite 20 bites, do it consciously, stop all distractions. 4. When you think you're full, stop. Don't keep eating until you're stuffed and bloated. If you feel satiated, stop eating. Trick for busting the craving: 1. Think of a food you crave, imagine the feeling. 2. Imagine another food, that you hate and feel disgusted by. 3. Close your eyes and imagine food 1 and how it tastes, then imagine adding in food 2 flavour combining with food one. Add some more disgusting things to it (some hair for example). Continue imagining how this tastes. Then imagine swallowing. Still crave?

I LOVE the last technique so much. You can use it for anything you want: a better job, having confidence, improving relationships, making more money, getting a promotion, acing a test. This technique is feeling your way to success!! Thank you Mr McKenna, this is the best walk-thru I've ever heard!

I used to love pastries. Paul has ruined that for me. I did one of his methods and I haven’t been back to the bakery. I’m not saying I can’t eat them but I don’t have the pull anymore. I think of them fondly as something I “used” to enjoy, nostalgic. Like cartoons or kickball. But the thought of eating one croissant, literally makes me gag a little. This is coming from someone who used to gobble two in a row and have room to spare for a freshly baked cookie. I am really astonished.

By the way, this is how powerful our brains are: Doing this exercise, just imagining eating a delicious crisp and then out of nowhere it starts tasting like vodka (yuck! Like bloody hand sanitizer!) and as I’m feeling repulsed by that then imagine a clump of hair mixed in there, visualizing the tough, dry, stringy texture going towards my throat. Literally started physically gagging. Nothing was happening in my mouth and yet I felt actually sick because I visualized something in my head. So before anyone writes off this kind of hypnotic weird brain stuff, remember that you can literally think yourself into puking.

I got the book on audible , I cant believe the effect on the first day ! I have always been a really fast eater, and have tried so many times to control it, even having a timer beside me and trying to make myself eat l for that long bit it never worked . My husband finished his meal before me last night, which is unheard of, and the flavours popping in my mouth were astounding !! Even though I was enjoying it so much , I didn't need to eat it all ! I am blown away !!!

People talk to themselves so badly, “I’m fat” and “I can’t do this”. I absolutely agree, we have to change the mind first before reality will catch up. It’s not delusional, we’re not trying to trick others but our own minds, into who we feel we should be. You can imagine yourself rich but how detailed are you with that image to the point you can feel yourself actually there? People need to have THE mindset for their dream selfs.

Please explain why bariatric surgery works immediately - most people lose appetite and sometimes have to remind themselves to eat. Their constant hunger (whatever you call it - “emotional” or real) is gone! And they can stop when they feel full without “making a decision”. Their body (brain) makes this “decision” for them. If you have gastric sleeve - the portion of the stomach making grelin (hunger hormone) is removed and you don’t feel hungry anymore! Thin people normally don’t force themselves to stop eating, they don’t struggle with constant cravings and inability to stop - like fat people. Thin people sometimes “forget to eat”, they are very choosy with food and don’t eat a lot of foods. I believe that overeating has nothing to do with “psychology” - it’s biology, it’s hormones, it’s how we evolved (but not for this world, where food is so abundant).
@tallisinwonderland47242 жыл бұрын
I think there’s some truth in this, the I forgot to eat just astonishes me! I could never 😅

Bariatric patients do regain their weight.
@ASmith-jn7kf2 жыл бұрын
And the ones that don't that could also be mental. They had a surgery and they don't want to regain the weight out of fear like anorexia. It is true that skinny people don't have to limit but I also notice that skinny people do eat and usually regularly and make compromises. I won't say skinny, people with control. They eat regularly and make compromises like I am eating this tonight so I will eat a lighter lunch or breakfast today. They are balanced. They can also be regularly active throughout out the day, whether walking here or there or cleaning or moving about. Their activity is built into their life. Sitting in a chair every three hours pumping and becoming more inactive in my.last pregnancy definitely retained more weight this last pregnancy, while taking in more fast food than any of my other four pregnancies.
@kiriyoga40282 жыл бұрын
I’ve not met anyone yet, who gained weight after a gastric sleeve. I’ve spoken to 17 people so far. All of them are telling the same story - it’s a miracle! Hunger and craving food is completely gone. Some of them 12 years after the surgery. I know people with gastric bands, that didn’t work at all. Also another surgery - bypass, but I’m not interested in that one as I want to do a sleeve. Which people are you talking about exactly, who gain weight, after which procedure? and do you have any official statistics?

That’s the point Martha, you don’t have to finish your meal, just save the rest for later on. You’ll find your self full by eating slowly.

Lunch is not the only meal of the day though. If you are advised to do something beneficial to you but you cannot do it every time, doing it some of the time is better than not doing it at all. Think about going for a run or walk to help you keep fit. If you cannot do it every day of the week then some days are better than no days ever.
