Saw him many times with Stuff ,The Gadd Gang He was my favorite piano player all time and his keyboard work ,Hammond/ electric piano on dozens of recordings from Areatha to Simon is stunning.I cried when he died

Feb 2024. I was a big fan of the band 'Stuff'. It had 6 great studio musicians: Gadd & Richard Tee from this video, along with Eric Gale, Cornell Dupree, Gordon Edwards & Christopher Parker. I love finding those guys in these classic videos.

This was for MTV Unplugged. Paul didn't plan doing late in the evening because he thought it wouldn't work unplugged, so this was improvised as an encore. Simply amazing.

I love the way that Mr. Simon loves and trusts the musicians that he works with. I love the way that the musicians with him ( whom, I would surmise) have never played with each other as a group, smile--and toss their ego aside. Each smile, as they pay homage to the god they love (Music) makes me happy and glad to have seen such wonderful artists have such fun.

@jabrother When I was a kid, my mom used to bring me to every Paul Simon concert that came to town. She'd always point out "Mr. T" on piano, and in some small way, we shared in the sorrow of his death the next time Paul came to town without him. Rest in peace, Richard Tee. We loved you.

Jeez how many people are in this band? It's enormous! Very good song too...the late great Michael Brecker on sax if I'm not mistaken. By the way, for those who might be interested, Steve Gadd is using a Mozambique, an afro-cuban groove which is really cool to play. (Actually Tommy Igoe tells you about this in one of his videos in youtube). And what are those sticks he's using???

Iam 70 and my generation has enjoyed, from the 60s onwards, the best pop, rock, blues music perfotmed by a multitude of instrumentalists, bands, singers, guitars players and many more. Thank you for uploading this piece. And even if today there is only garbage, I also follow TV shows that talk about legendary artists including the stories of their lives, even from the 20s, of gospel and blues players on the street and I will always be grateful to have lived my youth like this and I am still not full.
