I met Paul back in the late 70’s when they were touring. I was a helper with the catering before their concert. He was polite and gave me a warm greeting. It was a special time for me, as the public did not know what they looked like without their makeup. Also that day while they were rehearsing, I stood silently watching them, and one of them flicked a Kiss-imprinted guitar pick my way. My boss sent me to their hotel rooms to setup a humidifier in each one. I figured maybe that’s important for their singing voice. .

@@roxannemoser Funny! I was thrilled that he even spoke to me. Basically we were invisible to them at those type of things. I got the opposite feeling from Gené Simmons. While Paul, Ace and Peter rode in on a tour bus, Gene Simmons arrived in a jet later. I think he was dating Cher at that time.

Thanks to todays technology we get to see a side of our rock stars we never would've. its so weird to think that I was 14 when I fell in love with Kiss. Now I'm on the other side of life and see things differently.I went thru the who cares about Kiss in college and then the nostalgia phase about 10 years ago. Great respect for these guys and all they've endured. Paul seems the most down to earth. Thanks for the interview and being honest.

Thank God he didn't go the route of Ace. Ace destroyed himself with drugs & alcohol and now I am not sure if Ace could even be Ace anymore if he came back into Kiss. I watched an old interview of the band here on KZbin and Ace was just taking up all the interviews time. I give credit to Gene, he just sat back and watched Ace make an ass of himself. Paul as usual was level headed and gracious, Peter didn't say to much.
@arthurbishop31736 жыл бұрын
@ Metallic Phoenix, Gene is a Virgo, my man. Yes his bday is 8.25.49, but that makes him a VIRGO-not a Leo (don't take my word for it...look it up). If you're 'into' astrology, you should know that. If you're not, well, here's this: Since Gene is only 3 or 4 days past being a Leo, he likely has some Leo somewhere in his astrological chart, which is what were you referring to, I'm guessing. My hippie parents were amateur astrologers in the 70s, doing charts BY HAND (crazy, I know).

Totalwitchface We're all dead soon he means. Human life is very short! Question one... Was WW2 a long time ago?? Wrong. Most of you probably said "yes" no it wasn't, being literal minded, 74 years ago "in years itself" wasn't that long ago! Eg, in Europe every few months bombs are still found, some live, in Berlin where my fiancee lives one was found when i was there about a year ago. In Poland was a big mf found! Google. Enough to kill for 8 miles if it goes off! So in "Human year's yes the war was a long time ago. We like to try everything even wording to make our lives seem and feel longer. "It was a Decade ago" Huh? 10 year's is nothing! But see how we try to make our lives seem longer. Just a example. Our life is very short so enjoy it while your young and try not to think when you're young ahhhh' that's centuries from now. Because one day your on a date with a girl, your 18 and the next you're burying your wife and live alone

Love this interview of Paul Stanley. He's authentic here, no BS, no fluff-and-puff bragging, and even the tiny bit of ego that pops up is addressed in a very honest manner (i.e. being addicted to the flattery he receives when attending his wife's aerobic class). @@le_th_ it's only natural.
@le_th_3 жыл бұрын
@@crushsatan It may be true to say that for some adults, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's natural (as if to imply it's inherent to all). All we have to do is look around the world and we can see millions of examples of people who either have given up on that, or simply are not interested in that. There are also a minority who are inherently incapable of caring about that (because they're incapable of "caring" at all). If it were as natural as you suggest, the world would not be populated with people who (seemingly?) do not care, or who have stopped caring somewhere along the way. While that isn't exclusive to married individuals, I've heard many wives and husbands complain of that being the case for their spouse. It will come very naturally to most all young children and to those adults who are developmentally arrested in early childhood, especially extroverted, and externally motivated because they have no inner way to regulate any genuine self-worth unless someone outside of them is providing it. Think of how physically fit all of society would be if it were actually "natural'? This is precisely why he talks about the "discipline" it requires.

It's been common knowledge for years that Paul and Gene are Jewish; they don't 'hide' their heritage, they're proud of it. Since you don't use your real name, what are you hiding? I saw kiss in 80 , the reson why i saw tghem was because a guy owed me money so he repaid me with 2 kiss tickets and so i trabelled 450 km to the concert and ill never forget the minute paul stanley started simging detroud rock city and he screamed the lyrics and suddenky i realised how brilliant he was and i knew back then he was a nice guy coz i checked into a motel and little did i know kiss was on the top floor ...a real inspiration but sadly like all of us hes aged and hes doing his best to keep healthy ..a great guy
@mikeg34393 жыл бұрын
He's looking like he is doing well physically, good for him. I think out of the 70's/80's rock and roll crowd, those who went healthy are doing a lot better, and it's not a mystery as to why. You can't live the crazy life forever, even some don't make it out alive in their younger years, doing that.

Hey I was listening that kiss at 5 years old I'm 47 years old I grew up with these guys and I'm growing old with these guys ! You know I believe the great spirit takes care of us all and no matter what we go through in life he's always at the end standing there waiting ! And brothers and sisters it seems in 2021 we have a choice to make ! If we want to keep on going living like we used to and negativity and hell and fire and brimstone that's okay ! But you know sometime in your life the party freaking ends and it's just time to settle down and collect your thoughts before you move on to the other side ! You know a lot of us has had near death of experiences and most of us haven't but those who have their lives are changed forever ! Especially if you're in show Business sometimes the things you see in show Business can scare the living hell out of you ! But anyway God bless Paul Stanley and the band and the families and God bless you and thank you! Hey the thing about being old for me is a people come to me now for wisdom !!

Maybe the US world. The rest of us just think of them as a sort of eccentric band with no memorable songs such as Free's Alright Now which is fairly contemporary to Kiss but I can't think of any similar evergreen by Kiss.
Kiss was my 1st concert. He seems like a really nice guy. And everything he is saying is right.

Great interview. Paul it seems has remained grounded after all this time. Life is about learning & doing things that won't harm you. Like the late great Chuck Berry said "You bump your head but not twice." He said this in 1987 in his autobiography concert movie-Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' Roll.

MechanicalAnimal of the two remaining founders of Kiss I'd much rather interview Paul than Gene. Paul comes across as a genuine person while Gene is always trying to tell you what a good business guy he is and is constantly selling the fucking band. There is nothing Gene can tell me about either because I don't kiss anyone's ass for the length of time that dildo would take to tell me the two aforementioned items.
@synthvault8 жыл бұрын
Flyers 50 It's sad but I have to agree with you 100%. Obviously love Gene's playing and respect him immensely for his music contributions but yeah...I just wish he would shut up sometimes in interviews and such. He comes across as only in it for the money which surely can't be the truth. He's probably realizing right about now that money really isn't what life is all about. In the end money is worthless.

Edward Verhoef I don't understand you kiddo. Paul is a nice guy, I talked to him a few times in the early eighties while I was working for Dokken and again while touring with DIO in the early 2000's. Gene was usually nearby and always had a chip on his shoulder acting like an asshole about something or anything. If it hurts your feelings that I've known some famous people and you haven't , live with it.

Thanks Paul for sharing. I’m 60 and sing. Rock n Roll keeps one young😀I think. I still rock out to Kiss earliest songs. Look at the Stones for example! It’s certainly not about the money anymore. Their music keeps them young at heart. Aging is more a mental than physical thing I think though obviously our bodies do wear n tear. But Rock n Roll surely slows down the aging process in my personal opinion folks. So keep rocking people!🤟🏻RobertLackstein from Montreal Quebec Canada 🇨🇦
