So what does a pastors office look like? Not quite sure about all of them, but I can walk you through my library and all of the things I find useful for preaching, teaching and ministry in general.

Thanks for the good tour, Pastor Brooks. It would have been even better for me if you had named perhaps the ten or fifteen titles you liked/used/learned from the best with the author's name as you went along. Nevertheless, appreciate the comments on what you have on your shelves.

I like your library! I'm not a pastor, but I love theology. Looks like you have some NT Wright and Douglas Campbell in there as well, great stuff!

Theology is interesting amd fun to read about even if your not religious, spiritual etc..... I know people who are atheist and still read theology books. Religion is a part of history so its important to learn about.

One thing to consider is having an app to track your library. Many apps you just scan the barcode and it will go out on the internet and gather all the info on the book including the replacement cost. When you have a library which may contain many second hand books but may cost many thousands of dollars to replace new you have to consider the new cost to replace and have everything cataloged in case of a fire. Also verify with your insurance company what is covered in regard to books.

What books are you currently reading?

Very nice library. What shelves are those? Do they seem strong enough or do they sag in the middle? My biggest problem is my “auxiliary” library. I slowly carry books home from the office and they pile up. Eventually my wife tells me they must go back.

Just basic ones from Walmart. They work alright.

You should always have books you havent read yet. Because if you have read them all then you might start thinking you know it all.

I’m sure you’re aware, but Isaac Newton was quite fond of revelation. He tried to find all types of crazy codes and alchemical formulas in it or something lol.

Oh. There are so many crazy things he did with Revelation. Went through a bunch of them years ago.

The bible is metal? Is this some worldly way of getting the younger generation? Truly curious on the meaning behind it?

It's a tongue in cheek title, but it's a great show walking through some of the more gnarly parts of the Old Testament and talking about how we actually see the depth of human character, and the need for salvation from God. Season 1 is walking through the book of Judges. And yep, it has done a pretty good job so far of engaging people who are typically outside of normal churches.

Ther should only one book, the bible. Our missionary pastor has a library of books from my fathers, (yeah He took some), je reads them and is now indoctrinated with satanic calvinistic doctrine. My father reads them too but he recognized right away that those are poison.. The missionary pastor will face the church come last sunday of November 2021 and will be declared the no fellowship will be done with him anymore. We dont have the same mind, he was already counceled. Because of His calvinistic view he now believes that the bible has contradictory truth, the way He preach salvation is to make it LEGAL with good works, he doesn't know it himself, but a person leaded with Holy Spirit, we can descern. As a saved person we can digest that its never part of salvation, but how about those regular visitors, they'll add good works to their faith to make it legal God will never accept that..our conservative Baptist church will no longer organize their church. He needs to find a church that has the same mind with him...

I can tell just by looking at the spines that you haven't read 99% of thirst books.. you're just a book collector that's who wants people to have a certain perception of you

Bro your so bitter haha. I have many books that look new but i use them for references. It takes a special kind of person to read a whole technical commentary.

I own about 3000 books spanning 6 centuries. Many of the century-old examples are of course worn down due to use by previous owners. I treat my own newly purchased books so carefully when reading them that they look the same after reading them as they did before reading them.
