The Martyn Lloyd-Jones Trust I: An Introduction

Sometimes we make plans for a podcast and then have to change them after we finish recording. Such was the case this week.
Earlier last week, Teddy filmed an interview with Greg Jones, president of the Martyn Lloyd-Jones Trust. Because we wanted to properly introduce the MLJ Trust to you John jumped into the studio for a “10-minute introduction” that lasted over 30 minutes.
We thought the discussion was so good and hopefully would whet your appetite for more, we decided to split everything into two episodes. So this week, we present to you Dr. John Snyder and Teddy James discussing the MLJ Trust and the impact Dr. Lloyd-Jones has had on the two of them. Next week we will present the interview with Greg Jones.

He asked what made him so influential ? One thing would be his balance of the Christian life. Doctrine and experience. His willingness to follow the scriptures and history and not man's teaching, ie; the continuation of the gifts. His wife said he was pre-eminently a man of prayer and an evangelist. His belief in the felt presence of God and his belief in the necessity of the new birth. His belief in the holy spirit's enabling power and presence in preaching. His expectation of the spirit to work through his preaching. He believed Christianity was supernatural and something to be experienced and not just right orthodoxy. Though he believed orthodoxy was absolutely vital also. I have found one of the greatest things about him is his ability to help us apply the scriptures to our everyday life. His application.

❤ I read the two volume biography by Iain Murray years ago. A never to be forgotten mountain top experience in itself. I immediately purchased the Logic on Fire when it came out. I could not listen to JM every week. That is why God raises up John Snyder, Martyn Lloyd-Jones.......... A wonderful conversation. Many thanks.

Off the subject, can anyone at MG tell me if or when the work book for the Behold Your God series will be available again? I bought the DVD set but it didn’t come with the book/study guide and the website says it is sold out. The series is really interesting and informative.

We are working on a reorder right now, but it will be a bit before we can get it. We do have a digital version of the workbook available in the meantime. @@MediaGratiae Thank you, I will be patient and wait for the book. I am working through The Puritans set as well ( another awesome series that I have truly enjoyed) so I have plenty to keep me busy. I’ll check back for the book periodically. Thanks for some really wonderful DVDs. The scenery, the music, the history, and the commentary in these series are just amazing.
