He's Using the Legendary Center Deal during this performance, for people that think that all it is is that the deck is stacked, he is really switching between top bottom and the Impossible to do Center deal. This Performance is VERY, Very Difficult. what a performance!

Pumpkin I've watched the video a few extra times and when I got to that trick I did take a while to notice. He isn't centre dealing, he is bottom dealing.

he made a couple of (part) deck switches, and the deck might have been marked (what he says about the deck at the start was most probably a lie, the deck was opened already so it doesnt matter from where the deck was)

@irishroverX Funny you mention that, because I just saw him in a show called "Scammed!!" on the History Channel (which was quite good, btw); and I told a friend of mind, "this guy is faking his American accent -- he sounds Scottish to me" -- and lo and behold, I read your post. Also, his wikipedia entry states he was "raised in Singapore and Scotland". I always find it a little curious when people fake an accent to make it in show biz; then again, he is, literally, a scam "artist".

when they make these videos, who are the people in the audience because i watched a richard osterlind video and that black geezer was there too, is it just a fluke or are they people picked specifically to be there?
@here_be_dragons9184 Жыл бұрын
When you see a recorded "magic" performance, there's always a chance all the "audience" are paid accomplices. Generally it is used for large illusions like "make the elephant disappear"... It's probably less common for "slight of hand" magic, but for all we know, with all the edits and cuts, this performance could in theory be a completely unskilled guy that receives a prepared deck at every single cut.

If you look at 08:08, the cards are already sorted. From his point of view, on the left the even cards, on the right the odd ones, all in ascending order. He then just had to give the cards alternately from the top and the bottom - I think he just had to align his fingers for that.
@here_be_dragons9184 Жыл бұрын
Possible although I kind of doubt that. That would be a possible switch if it was only the camera, but where his hands are the girl on the left could see him switching decks. Now the girl could be a plant. There are many times the deck goes under the table. Every time it happens you can safely assume something fishy is going on... The one at 3:25 is pretty glaring though.
@MarcV_IndieGameDev Жыл бұрын
@@here_be_dragons9184 aye that's a lot of "down time" If he's tweaking the deck one handed and shuffling stuff around with the thumb, then He's a master, but if He's simply swapping a deck, meh, the skill level is Illusionist, and not a master of slight of hand. (which are the same, except, a child could lower a deck and swap, a master with nimble fingers is years and years of mastery)

He never really shuffled. During the riffle, he simply pushed one side of the deck through the other side, then the same with the other side. In doing so, he kept the cards in the same order. In other moves, he simply remembered where the cards were. He's very good but he should have let someone else shuffle the deck and then do the trick. If you really want to be impressed, watch videos of Richard Turner. He's blind and considered to be the best in the world and untouchable.

@@ceretomer5987 Do you think that richard turner doesn't do the same? He also got some special printed cards just for him. He is blind, ok perfect, but if you are really into card mechanics you should know that at this level everything is just muscle memory , i can do the same moves while watching tv without looking at my hands or even cards because is also the way i learned some of these sleights. His skill with false shuffling/dealing is really impressive but just because of his blindness, you can master that in 2-3 years
@ceretomer59874 жыл бұрын
@@Wir3dMagician Of course Turner does the same thing....he just does them better. He still does things that others have trouble doing. Such as holding a deck in one hand, have someone name a number and then cut the deck to that exact number with one hand. Maybe there are others who can do that but I'm not aware of any.

Actual, the girls were picked by Louis Falanga, owner of L & L publishing. He often would recruit girls from a nearby strip club to serve as audience members. I'm not suggesting that these two ladies were necessarily obtained that way, but Louis understood that pretty women helped to sell DVDs to a predominately male audience! Some women were merely friends of Louis, and were invited to the tapings.
