As a long time Persona and JRPG fan, I absolutely adore Metaphor. I am about to finish my 2nd play through of the game on the hardest difficulty that unlocks after your 1st completion. In my opinion it is a lot more mature than the Persona games despite somehow only having a teen rating

I use Xbox cloud for cod cause I have an Xbox but limited access to the TV in my home and my laptop isn't powerful enough to run it with high quality. Sometimes it has issues but overall I think it's very worthwhile

Honestly I was a hardcore gamer up until rise of iron in destiny 1 when my son was born. Completely changed the way I game. When stadia came out it was a no brainer to a gaming, working dad. Apart from the bad game library it did everything I needed. I was bummed when it died but switched to game pass. Latency wasn't as good and at the time I didn't have as many ways to play anywhere but library was good. It's improved over time and honestly can't myself buying another console. I've even jumped into geforce now on occasion. I'm with what Xbox are trying to promote. Audience may be small but they do exist

30k was overselling TFD concurrent its at like 13.3k peak in the last 24 hours and has only had a handful of days since September where they hit 30k peak. They are leaning in to fan service because the content isn't keeping players around so feels like last ditch efforts for the game.

First post is correct. Even Sony is moving to putting everything on PC. The console market is stagnating. The expansion is just not there. The younger generation are not buying consoles as others did in the past. Plus, there is an untapped market overseas. We get a little near sighted here in the States. For example, did you use know Call of Duty mobile had over a billion (with a B) downloads?

Phil gets a nice pay check and is selling everyone a BS sandwich to keep the checks comings. 4. Given 1. and 2. They have to sell games somewhere new (PS5 and switch and beyond?).

"nothing is off the table now" which they also said 18 months ago. Xbox isn't going anywhere. They're much better positioned for the future than Playstation or even Nintendo. Consoles are making less sense at this point. Cloud streaming or PC are the near future. VR/AR after that. I'm an Xbox fan because they have better games (shooters) than Sony IMO. I've preferred the majority of Xbox games since the 360, my Xbox library is huge. My PC Windows library is even bigger. I have a PS5 but all I play on it is Fallout 76 with my nephews. Never owned a Nintendo product because I'm an adult gamer. I did own an Atari console in 80s before going PC.

Paul, why do we care about game being exclusive? Xbox only has 20 million consoles in homes. How does it make sense to make an exclusive game for a 20 million install base. I’d really like to hear the logic on how it would make sense to keep a game exclusive to Xbox at this time with the low number of consoles.

As Paul states, who exactly is this hypothetical consumer-base that really wants to play a lot of video games (and pay for them via subscription,or a la carte) but WON’T purchase a dedicated gaming console/hardware? I am sure that description fits SOME individuals… but not many. Certainly not enough individuals to develop and maintain a gaming ecosystem designed solely for that niche market.

You don't understand being anti-Xbox. Okay. Were you okay with the Xbox One reveal when Microsoft tried to effectively disembowel the used game industry by applying "license fees" to trade games with others, in favor of their "family and friends plan?" Because that was anti-consumer. How about how they tried to con Xbox players into believing that the Kinect camera was "essential" to Xbox One infrastructure, only to rip it out upon getting massive pushback. Because that was anti-consumer. How about selling four generations of "the most powerful console hardware ever," only to tell people "nah, you don't need the most powerful console hardware ever, EVERYTHING is an Xbox." Because that's anti-consumer. How about Microsoft literally BUYING the entire industry, and threatening to make many multi-platform franchises exclusive? Because that's also anti-consumer. How about how MS sat back and let people call Gamepass "the best value in gaming," while companies like Sony have been trying to shut down some of their online stores have also gotten pushback because of "game preservation?" Funneling players into ANOTHER streaming service where things they already don't technically own due to "online licenses blah blah" is HEAVILY anti-consumer and a MASSIVE waste of money. And by the way...I say that last part as a Sony Pony, who's very angry at Sony for their attempts to shut down online stores AND has genuine regret defending them over not switching on cross play and cross save sooner. That said...while console wars ARE juvenile, being an informed consumer is NOT juvenile, I'm old enough to remember the worst of times for both sides of it, and being "anti-xbox" is pretty justified. Microsoft is an aggressive company desperate for monopoly and they've been so for decades. Sony isn't innocent by a long shot, but they're far smaller and many of the things they've done come nowhere close to what MS has done in this industry.
