I'm not a carp fisherman at all, have never caught one in fact, and live in the US, but this is one of the most well made fishing videos I've ever seen. Well done.

Paul I use bread all the time for carp. A really simple method to use it is to take the soft white part of the bread and roll up a bunch the size of a boilie. Then let them sit out in the sun for around 15 or 30 mins until they get hard. Then just use it like a boilie and trust me it works really good.

one of my favorite baits for carp is whole kernel corn. 4-5 pieces on a long shank hook works wonders. Some guys like to spice it up by soaking the corn in dissolved strawberry jello mix.

Bang on Paul ! Reminds me of fishing as a boy when I had a ledger rod for chub fishing. I went to a carp lake and felt like a phoney sitting among the 'real' anglers with their multi-rod set ups with bite alarms etc etc etc. I hooked into and landed an 8lb mirror carp inside an hour whilst the other anglers sat motionless. Perhaps Paul you'll focus on lures for river fishing in future; I do prefer to be mobile and searching for the fish.

i was lure fishing today for the next video which is about a pike lure, i was asking the bailiff about chub fishing on the bit river they have and he was encouraging so I may making some little lures or doing some ledgering later this year thanks

Beautiful video, as always. Just goes to show that you don't need to take out a bank loan to go carp fishing. You could, however, save anything up to a minute by using an albright knot for the braid/ mono join.

cheers, i do sometimes tie the albright, cheers

Nice work! Carp are highly underrated game fish here in the States. Your set-up seems like a lot of unnecessary work, though, We just use lead-head jigs with a plastic twister tail and can stick 15-20 pounders all day. Stay on 'em! Congrats!
@PaulAdamsTheHandmadeFisherman7 жыл бұрын
cheers, this is small pond in the centre of a city so it sees a lot of fishermen and the fish are a little wiser than most I fish with jig heads and soft plastic grubs here but perch and pike are the only takers

Wszyscy w Polsce narzekają na bardzo niski stan ryb w wodach. A ja oglądając angielskie filmiki doszedlem do wniosku że to oni mają straszną sytuację. Moze i mają ogromną ilość karpi w wodzie. Ale patrzac na ich rozmiar to im współczuję
