Yes, she is a lady!!! I’ve enjoyed these videos from the beginning when they were “Quarantine Cookin” videos. I was soooo grateful & appreciative she opened up her home again, but different in so many ways,, to share recipes and so much more with us in those hard times. I really do love these new cooking shows more than those that were on a network or TV show (I hope you understand what I’m saying) I’m not complaining about earlier shows, I loved watching those too. I love these cooking shows more because this is so relaxed and we feel as if we are right there in her kitchen, with her and her family, friends, Eddie & Theresa and we appreciate you Paula. 💕 Thanks to all of you that makes this happen. I’ve learned a lot and made many dishes she has taught us over the past year or so. 😊 “Paula Deen” IMO will always be the “Queen of Cooking!” Thank you Paula! 💕

Dear Paula, My husband Ted came home with supper and some beautiful white roses for me. I thanked him then asked where he got them, he said at Popeyes when I picked up supper. He actually got food at drive up window then before leaving parking lot he reached out his window snapping off the white roses. It was out of character for him so I appreciated them all the more. Thank-you for sharing all your great recipes. Give Michael, Eddie and Teresa a hug from me. I love you all in Christ. Hugs from northern California.

I have a chicken dish for you named, Chicken Duplissey (Do/pliss/e). It is actually named after me. When I was in college I worked as a dishwasher at a small, small restaurant in town. The restaurant was named Front Street. The kitchen was smaller than the kitchen in Bobby’s guest house. The restaurant served only lunch when I began. The owner decided to open up a bar and began to add dinner service. So I took a college class in bar tending (Drinking and serving all spirits was the age of 18). I learned to make all the dishes on the menu at the restaurant. And became the weekend cook for the dinner service. My chicken dish came from a news paper article that my Grammy had in her recipe box. It had no name except: Rev. Duplissey’ s ( my Grandpa.) favorite chicken. It was from a 1941 newspaper. The recipe was delicious when I made it at home, so i took it to work for the owner to taste and the owner loved the dish. When we made it as a special at dinner service they did not know what to name it. So the owner took the Rev. off, and named it Chicken Duplissey. Not sure where my Grammy got the recipe, but the preacher’s wife usually was the go to person, to help fill up the society page for the newspaper. They even printed what my Grammy the preachers wife wore to Church one night where my Grandpa was preaching revival. Chicken Duplissey 8 chicken skinless breast or thighs pounded out 1/2 inch thick. 2 8oz packages of cream cheese soften in the microwave (recipe said lay cream cheese in window until it is soft). 1/2 cup green onions cut small (use all the onion) 2 small cans of mushroom stems and pieces (the recipe called for 1 cup of mushroom slices cooked in lard) 1. Lb. bacon OPTIONAL 2 cups white wine Directions: 1. Place chicken between 2 sheets of wax paper ( you can use plastic wrap) 2. Pound out chicken until it is1/2 inch thick 3. Microwave cream cheese until it is soft 4. Chop up green onions useing all of the onion 4. Stir mushrooms and green onions into the cream cheese. 5. Add cream cheese mixture 1 1/2 teaspoons in the middle of each chicken breast or thigh. 6. Roll the chicken in a purse around the cream cheese. 7. Roll one slice of bacon around each piece of chicken lay seem side down into a 9x15 dish or a small foil pan. If you like your bacon crispy then cook until it has rendered some fat in a frying pan or broil the bacon and chicken under the broiler in the oven at the end of cooking. 8. Place wine over and around chicken (OPTIONAL) 9. Cook at 375 degrees for 30 minutes in a preheated oven. Check chicken to make sure it is cooked. *If you use the wine take the chicken out of pan it was cooked in. scrape the bottom of the dish. Mix wine and the drippings from the pan to make a thin sauce. Have fresh homemade sourdough bread to eat with the wine sauce. I used fresh garlic bread and butter now. Hope you enjoy.

You know, I had some celery sticks for snacking in the fridge and cut up one very thin. I sautéed it with the onions and it worked like a charm! I followed the rest of your recipe to the letter, except since I didn’t need a full recipe, so I cut it to 2/3rds and it was perfect for two and some left overs to share! Mother whispered in my ear from Heaven and reminded me how she used to sauté onions and celery for her cornbread dressing. It worked!
@LindaSChastain3 жыл бұрын
That is an awesome idea. I cook chicken, make stuffing with mushrooms, onions, cream of mushroom soup and frozen veggies layering it in casserole dish with mixed grated cheeses then bake. I got the recipe from my oldest daughter. My husband loves it. I make it ahead then freeze it to take on our motorhome vacations to Idaho. I make it in a round casserole dish, heat it in my onepot, then add the air fry lid on to onepot to get cheese bubbly. I'll try celery and onion fried together next time. Hugs

It’s wonderful that your husband shows you how much he loves you and does things for you on birthdays anniversaries and mother’s days. My husband doesn’t do anything for me on my birthday or Mother’s Day or on our anniversary. I do things for him on those occasions of course but he don’t do it for me. All those women out there that have spouses that makes sure you know they love you don’t take it for granted and be sure to appreciate it cause it’s a real blessing to have that.

Barking, fighting dogs in the kitchen are a big distraction to her cooking show. It's annoying how she has to stop and yell at them so much, and hand feeding dogs in the kitchen is so unsanitary. It's my only "complaint" about sweet Paula.

This is one of the better chicken noodle casseroles that I've seen! I will be making this soon!! Thank you Paula! The recipe I have always made is pretty much like yours except there's not much cheese, about 1 cup goes in with the noodles, and calls for cream of mushroom soup, half can of condensed milk, a cup of sour cream, a little mayo, and if you want, a small jar of mushrooms (not the stems and pieces, just the sliced). Yum!

I used canned chicken, pimentos and pepper jack cheese that I had left after making your pimento cheese, spaghetti, and I topped it with French's crispy fried onions on top because the box was about to expire. I added a few frozen green peas. Delicious! Best to eat right after it comes out of the oven.

My grandma used to take chicken breasts, flour and lightly brown them and put them in a casserole dish. Take two cans( more or less depending on your taste) of Campbells chicken and rice soup and pour them over top. Then take a can of water and 1 teaspoon of flour. Mix together and then sir into the soup. Bake for 1 hour at 350. She got this recipe out of a Better Homes and Gardens probably back in the 50s. As it sits and cools the liquid will thicken from the flour. It's easy and cheap. Reminds me of her whenever I make it.

Instead of translucent why not caramelize the onions. A trick I learned with noodles. Cook them in a broth or stock to match the main component of a dish. In this case chicken stock. Don't worry I don't waste it. I drain the noodles into a pot. Then I season the left over broth for a southing drink or save it for gavey. The starch from the noodles helps thicken gravy.
