I'm pretty sure what they meant was that some people (like Morgan's friend) don't laugh at the joke because they're nervous, not necessarily because they don't find it funny... Also, if you don't enjoy his humor then you might not want to spend the rest of your life with. :)

@irinaamariei17056 жыл бұрын
That's right. If two persons like each other they will flirt without even realising it. I mean a guy will make eye contact, will try to be in the same group to the girl, be funny around the girl he likes, and same for girls, they will laugh at his jokes, play with they hair, etc. As long as you have good intentions,if you are truly interested in somebody I think it's perfectly ok to flirt.

He loves kids, I love kids, he's single, I'm single, we both love Jesus, made occasional eye contact in the library- maybe his heart skipped a beat like mine! ...nope! *sigh So that was embarrassing, but he didn't stop liking my stuff on social media even though I unfollowed him in an attempt to disappear... Which proves it wasn't as cringey as I thought. However, THASSIT!!! I prayed to God and 2 days later got a text message from the person I'm ment to be with after they said they had this strange urge to call me and see how I was doing God is the greatest dating app because he knows who your ment to be with before you and knows who's right for you.

So I prayed with my youth pastor and we talked about it, and I'm really excited to use my gift. Ik I left some of the details out, but I do know that God has given me this gift. So basically can u guys pray for me that i can use this gift to help others? P.S God has been speaking to me too! I want to know how to flirt in a normal way that is not over powering but is obvious. I am also 20 and have never been in a relationship, so I do not have any past flirting experience to help me haha. So yes, I think it is fine for Christians to flirt... with someone that they are genuinely interested in. But I disagree with flirting with everyone or just trying to lead people on, because that is playing with emotions which is not okay. Paul and Morgan, THANK YOU for your tips to flirting! Ya know this kinda hit home for me, I think you guys are right. In our culture, that's how you find someone you want to marry. We don't have to be like Isaac and Rebekah in the bible and wait for God to provide some kind of sign haha. In college if there were guys I liked I fell into that category of shy-away-and-don't-let-on-you-like-him... Sure, even go on a date with someone, it doesn't have to mean a whole lot, but genuinely get to know them as a friend at least! :) I think the other side of this would be my friends who do the courtship thing...even then, some flirting or making your intentions known is healthy, in my opinion.

Oh man, the bubbly thing has been an issue for me SO many times and it's something I've been worried about now that I actually think I may have met "The One'' (who's in Australia right now, so thank the Lord that I have some time to practice this pulling back thing). Thank you for opening my eyes and helping me realize that pulling back in an option lol! And for the tips, nearly all are pretty "scary" to me (except for laughing, smiling and cute nervous ticks since those happen naturally), because love is one big bawl of nerves and leaving your comfortzone, I'll try them out once he's returned (in February, so I've got some time to get used to the idea of flirting (in a way that is a little more obvious while still subtle) with him :P)

It doesn't need to be scary! Just practice being clam and relaxed. Be yourself, and good luck with your guy!:)

"Or they purposefully avoid them..." DON'T CALL ME OUT. I've been notorious for this in the past. And Morgan's note on being Bubbly and Charismatic IS SO TRUE TO ME! Everyone calls me too optimistic and happy. I honestly don't know how to show I'm interested since the only time I hang out with the guy I am interested in is with my sister and we make sure we don't hang out alone. My sister would probably get freaked out and wonder what I was doing if I complimented him or whatever. And I want to know if these things are considered flirting. -I accidentally kicked his shin underneath the table and I apologized and he said, "As long as you aren't playing footsie with me" with a huge smile on his face. -At a costume party I was a tree, and my twig fell off and he started hitting my shoulder with it and said, "I'm hitting on you!". -Over text he asked what my plans were and when down the road I'd like to get a boyfriend and where I'd go to college. I responded with "after college I want to settle down" and I asked WBY. He said his plans and said he wanted to settle down and marry a girl after she finishes college. I mean, I think there were more but they aren't coming up. Any advice?

I definitely think he's interested in you..! He's asked you great questions, especially the one in regard to your future. And his attempts to flirt with you are both funny and adorable. :) I would suggest complimenting him on his wit, or complimenting him on his conversational skills. Just try to figure out a way to compliment and or encourage him, so that he feels comfortable that you're open to him pursuing you further.

One thing that I would say is don't compliment a girl too much. My date did that one time, and it made me never want to go on a date with him again because he was focusing on my appearance and I felt uncomfortable. Just a suggestion from a girl that doesn't want all that attention.

This video came out too late for meee 😢😂 now i'm married but i totally agree with you guys and i soo needed that back in my single days! In the 4 years after i got baptized and before getting married this summer, I actually struggled with flirting and i kinda had some problems (who got very known from the whole church, and it's a big church - hundreds of people...) with a guy from my church. I also have a very outgoing personality like you Morgan, and this happened in the period when i just got into the church, i was new in faith and didn't rly know how to behave as a christian. And I met this guy and i was all nice and ME with him and of course he thought i liked him, and he fell in love with me (in my defence, during 2 weeks) and it got a bit nasty.. I had to tell him that i don't like him in the same way, he didn't understand why because i was so nice to him, our pastor heard about the whole thing, he called me and said he wants to talk to me, the whole church heard something about it at jumped at conclusions and I turned out to be the bad guy who hunts and hurts little nice christians. And it was 2 years before he got over me and before people in the church let me forget about it and it was tough for me, being at the very beginning in my walk in faith, to go through that and not turn back to my old life, because it was tempting... but Jesus was holding me with His birth hands ♥️ And it was tough to learn how to back down a bit, i turned out pushing every guy away without even realising, because i was trying to be the exact opposite of how I normally am, until a guy told me to get off my "back off" sign from my forehead 😂 only then i realized how bad it was 😂 and I came to the conclusion that I have to back down from flirting for a while and focus on my relationship with God. And i've done so util last year when I met my husband 😁♥️ So everyone, take this flirting thing serious enough because it can turn out bad for someone... And story No.2, my husband, while we were dating, told the most not funny jokes 😂.. but i love him and i learned to love his kind of humor and his jokes ♥️ and now i genuinely think they are funny, i just used to have a different taste of humor, i still have it but i made room for his too 😁 so don't be so harsh about it, try to see where this person is coming from. If he/she is a good christian he/she won't tell bad/missoginist/racists/etc jokes so there's nothing that you can't try to accept and end up to like or even love, because trust me, in a future marriage there will be a lot of compromise - the jokes will be the easy part 👍 (Sorry for the novel, i just felt that I have to share)

Maria Wright i think 16-17 is a good age. That way you can drive yourself to dates and stuff. Its awkward having your mom drive you. I started dating my husband at 16. Got married at 21. I do however sometimes wish I would of dated later because we knew we wanted to get married 2 months in and couldnt because we couldnt legally get married at 16. So we had to wait several years.

You said it yourself, and I really agree that one of the major things when it comes to flirting between Christians is the goal behind it. To not flirt for fun, or to lead someone on, or to boost your own self esteem. Not even to test the waters. Flirting is meant to let the other know you like them and giving them a heads-on, to "suggest" to them to see you in another light and (esp. in contrast to the helplessly-rude-and-ignorant stereotype) give both you the chance to interact.

It means a lot to a guy when you are interested in talking and hanging out. You shouldn't have to be anyone but yourself around him. The Man of God for you will see and appreciate you for who God made you to be. He will respect and honor you as the daughter of the King. And of course, surround yourself with genuine Godly people who will speak life and encouragement to you. I prayed for the Lord to surround me with brothers and sisters in Christ who are hungry for God and He has been faithful to answer this prayer. He will be faithful to you no matter what.
@Tesjhkyayy5 жыл бұрын
I think God has written down the things we have to know in his word, the Bible. If you're flirting it comes to a point where men and women begin to think sexually about each other... and that's not the will of God except you're in a marriage with each other. You urge him/her to think about you in a very emotional and intimate way and that's sin (Ephesians 5,6; 2nd Timothy 3,13). We should live in chastity and flee from temptation (Matthew 26,41)! Love is crazy enough with all these feelings and you don't have to add fuel to the fire... that's just not a holy attitude and very selfish to flirt. Trust in God, pray for thies guy/girl and behave like a good friend who is reliable, godly, forthcoming... God will find a way if it's ment to be. If it's the right one you don't have to do extra work showing your presence or acting flirty... just trust in God and everything will come in place at its best. "17 I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. 18 For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people. 19 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice because of you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil." Romans 16,17-19

I really appreciate you guys as a couple addressing the nuances in Christian interactions , esp in the modern era - whereas most Christian relationship books have been based off marriage or for engaged couples, from a previous era. I actually have the opposite problem; I’m introverted& quiet. Not that I’ve low self esteem, but that I watch and amylose everyone & interject when somethings important. However, there’s a lot of bold, controlling girls younger than me w/ more $ who I mentor that have informed me they’re obsessed with the Sam guy I’ve been keeping an eye on. I haven’t told them that, because they are also very controlling & tend to dominant any interactions as a group. I couldn’t agree more w/ u both that girls shouldn’t peruse the guy constantly in conversation txts & posts on fb or esp asking them out because God put the man in charge of everything; but they believe “it’s the 21st century, everyone equal, I’m perfectly caliber of asking him to date me even though I’d never propose”. So, it was refreshing 4 me to hear your friend in another video w/ all the guys comment that quiet girls can be Attractive as well. I guess I’m wondering how quiet guys peruse a women, when all the Christian dating books are saying ‘he has to know what he’s persuing first; go add him on fb & start a conversion, go up & say hi to him first’ & where that fine line is between us quiet girls being completely ignored from church cliques again & being perceived as persuing the guy.

I'm like Morgan, I laugh at everybody's jokes and am just generally nice to everyone, but a loooot of my friends seem to take it the wrong way. I was feeling a bit bummed out a while ago because I felt like guys only wanted to be friends with me to date me and for no other reason, because once I told them I wasn't interested they wouldn't talk to me anymore...
