GENE IS A GREAT BASS PLAYER.

Im a huge fan, but no. He wasnt a great bass player. The most complicated lines (like this one) has been written and recorded by someone else. This was Paul. Gene was oke and he wrote some awesome songs but hes one of the least good bass players to ever make it in a band.

@@ArjanYoyoman dont agree. Gene can play. And if he didnt play a track like this and paul did..its fine because plays it all live while singing at the same time...record producers have stated nikki sixx to be horrible and often had studio bassists to record his tracks

People also need to take into account that the first 10 years the costume and at least the original Axe bass were very heavy and makeup and hot bright lights ....not super easy.

How do you play with a pick? I know it’s personal preference, but I prefer the sound and control of plucking, i guess since I was a guitar player before I decided to take on the bass. But great cover dude

I found a bass tab on songster that is similar to yours. I was just wondering if I should play yours bc it’s actually how the song is played? Thats simpel. People like Mickey Miller listen with their eyes. If you listen at any live recording Gene plays very simpel basic stuff. Any more fancy bass lines like these arnt written and recordid by him. This song, the bass is written by Paul Stanley. Im a big fan of Kiss, Gene can also write some good songs and he's not terrible at bass. Just very very basic. He might be the least good bass player among all popular rock bands.
