Morning Paul. I totally used a hand soap to shave with prior to restarting wet shaving. It is a more expensive soap, $4.25 a bar, good ingrediencies for the face. I still use it occasionally. Nice razor and you did a very good job with it. Tell Mrs. H she did a magnificent job with the sunflower arrangement. Enjoy your dinner, sound great.

Paul, You may not consider yourself an “expert” and I like your approach-that one is only an expert about themself. However, your vast amount of experience with a great variety of products and supplies has granted you a breadth of experience that translates into a great amount of practical knowledge. And THAT is what we appreciate! Great video, lots of fun! Thanks, Paul.

Hallo Paul das war wieder perfekt und die Blumen: wunderschön, mein Kompliment an Mrs. H. Happy Sunday Paul! The Sunflowers are bright and cheery...thank you Mrs. H!! I like my Karve CB brass razor and the C-plate is nice, close, and comfortable for me. Surely, I agree that the Karve is a wonderful shaver. My only annoyance is the brass and how it tarnishes (some call it patina). My Navy career instructed me how how brass should shine! Therefore, I have to work extra hard to keep it bright. lol. How I wish they make a Donut scented shaving soap...yum! SOTD: Muhle R95 Rocca loaded with a 1976 Wilkinson Sword Master Chromium blade (7th use). Stirling Bay Rum shaving soap lathered a PAA Atomic Rocket synthetic. I had only 20 minutes to shave and get out of the house for an appointment. I did manage 3 passes and did the pick-up as I was shaving, sort of barber styling once-over on the ATG pass. Finished with the Thayer's Coconut Water skin toner and Stirling Bay Rum aftershave. I smelled amazing. My face...it was clean, but a bit irritated in a few areas. I dislike shaving in a rush. All-in-all, I did get a near BBS...DFS+? I am a trained barber and practiced my craft since 1998. Your answer is well thought out as I find you have to learn about each individual patron to be able to get the best service possible. That said, I would say you are as much of an expert as any of my barber college instructors and your innate knowledge of DE razor shaving is well above any casual practitioner. You make an excellent instructor as you have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to professional guide the beginner and novice. I know you dislike being the subject matter expert. You just want to be a person sharing your shaves. Yet for many, you are the shaving sage. Truth be told, I often defer to your tips and advice because they are simple to perform and sensible. I see a very good result from your set-up today...you face looks clean and smooth. Thank you for sharing your shaves and thoughts. I always look forward to your videos. Take care.

My SOTD (for tomorrow) will be: Rockwell 6S, plates 5 & 6. Gillette Silver Blue (1st use). RazoRock Big Bruce. Sterling Soap Orange Chill. Sterling Orange Chill post shave balm. Just returned from a two week holiday with the family and watched your most recent videos, since my internet connection was very limited. This Karve razor in brass is really stunning. It's those kinds of razors that will certainly endure through time. The Imperial Leather hand soap didn't perform all that bad. Amusing choice :) On travel my SOTDs where basically the Gillette Slim Adjustable with a mix of blades, Semogue 1470 boar brush, Proraso Blue shaving cream and Old Spice after shave lotion. Temperatures are up to 38º, 39º C in some regions here in Portugal. It's a strange kind of cool, as we say :)

@@profesam8457 For me the Med-Prep blades are both sharp and smooth at the same time and I get no irritation with them. Feather is one of the sharpest blades there is but not smooth and I would get irritation when I use them so I stopped using them. Also I can get 4-6 shaves out of each Med-Prep blade. AOTD (Agony of today): vintage Gillette 'Ball End' Tech razor, Flagfish blade (1st and definitely last use ever),Wilkinson badger brush, Balea men shaving oil, Tabac shaving soap, even some Palmolive shaving cream used as a pre-shave and Williams Aqua Velva aftershave to cool the burning face down a little bit... The 'Flagfish' blades are the worst blades I've ever tried, they drag and rip more than they shave. And beside that, they stick out on one side of the razor more than on the other. So the good, old Gillette became much more aggressive on one side, the difference was clearly to feel. So,two passes and that was enough... One of the worst shaves I've ever had!

Nice shave, Paul, I bet you smell like an old-fashioned sweet shop with donuts, bubblegum and coconut mixed together. My S.O.T.D. : new: an unbranded safety razor (2nd use) that has blown me away, Rise stainless steel blade, Arko shave stick, Omega boar brush, Humphreys witch hazel and a dab of Brut after shave. I'll be looking and smelling gorgeous! (ha ha)

Your right David, yes like an old sweet shop..lol. Great SOTD, many thanks :-)
