Jas didn’t seem to struggle with taking pictures of people as she asked a man sitting for a photo. No one would do that if you had a problem getting close to people.
@cdnott2 ай бұрын
@@marioarias9942People make the daftest comments... If you find something difficult you can still push through the discomfort to make yourself do it. And if you're asking strangers for photographs then a key part of what you're pushing through to do will be projecting an air of engaging confidence, won't it?
@JayquanDeMarcusWashingtonАй бұрын
@@marioarias9942 asking people is easier than just snapping a candid photo IMHO... There's very little chance for confrontation when asking, but if you just get up close and take photos to capture a moment, some people get very angry... and street photography is typically more candid.

18:53 This is my favorite moment from this! It's always a balance of entering the space of others but she couldn't help but say "I like your hat!" and then approach the man. I think I liked this because in comparison to 1:39 where she talks about shooting with 28mm and being forced to push the boundaries - she really connected with this individual and went for it. I Really enjoyed this episode. Let's get a part 2 down the road!
@BUCKSHOTSTVАй бұрын
This moment resonated with me as well. I recently went out of town for a new business and I started talking to the girl at a restaurant I went to. Turns out she was from Nepal and just had such a sweet aura about her. Her eyes captivated me, and while I found it terrifying, I asked her if I could take her portrait. It was such a scary moment but she agreed and that felt like a huge win for me. Later on that evening I ended up taking a portrait of one of the hotel workers and after 20 years of shooting, that has been my all time favorite photo. She was so in love with her photo and it made my day when she said that she hates taking photos because she never comes out how she envisions herself, and this was the first time she was captured in such a way. I’m thinking of printing it and mounting it for her and sending it to her at the hotel as a surprise. I might do this more often now that I’m traveling more with my new business. I shoot portraits, but I want to dabble in street photography and street portraits.
