BL Mazda 3 (2009 to 2013): Remove and replace the cabin air filter.

In this video I demonstrate how to remove and reinstall the cabin air filters in a BL Mazda 3 (2009 to 2013). If your trim level is Neo or Maxx, then I also show you where the Variable Fan Speed Resistor (VFSR) is. If your trim level is higher than that, then the VFSR is on the other side of the HVAC assembly.

Thanks! Great advice. This has been more helpful than all the other videos I watched. It is still a female dog to get in there and change the pollen filters on the Mazda and just as bad to try and put them back in too. You need to be a contortionist. I somehow managed to cut my finger on something sharp doing it. Mazda should really design their cars better. It is a lot easier to change the pollen filters on other brands.

Hi Paul the filters actually have an up arrow on the them push first on up then the one with guide slides (is the bottom one) in under there a bit fiddly to hold one and insert the other under ,if the top one doesn't stay up , Hope you are progressing well with your cancer treatment ,your videos are very informative, thank you

Just replaced mine. Simple job made difficult by the position of the filters. It was hard to get the top filter to stay in while inserting the bottom filter (while not being able to see exactly what I was doing)

Hey Paul great videos, I'm about to do the swap of my dashboard on my 2010 Mazda 3 here in the US, and I want to take advantage and replace the AC blower, mine is making a weird noise, I found this video in how to swap the filters but Do you by any chance have a video on how to do the AC blower? I have the repair manual but they don't explain it really well, Hope you a well.

Hi Paris, I've never washed them with water. I either replace them or I vacuum them or I blow them clean with an airgun. But reading online, I can see that some people do wash the charcoal and cloth ones. My guess is that if it goes wrong, then bacteria will breed in the filter, which you will then breathe in when you turn on the fan. Not to mention the risk of a musty smell. So personally, I wouldn't do it, but it sounds like some people do. Paul in Perth, Australia.

In English, we call the filter under the hood the air filter. It needs changing too. По-английски мы называем фильтр под капотом воздушным фильтром. Это тоже нужно изменить.

I am Australian. We also throw away the old one, and put in a new one. Я из Австралии. Старую тоже выбрасываем, и ставим новую.
